Well..I went to a gunshow today with a couple of friends and took my parts gun CAR-15 I recently built. I had $500 in the build..
Cruising the isles I came to a table that had a Springfield 1911 on it. So the fellow behind the table wanted to see my CAR-15 and I was looking at the SA...wasn't really looking for a 1911...had some in the past, got rid of them. He says "You want to trade?"..I say "Maybe.." I get the SA and $60 from him and he gets the CAR-15...  I'm ditching the Pachmayr's for either Cocobolo or Rosewood grips and I need a few Wilson mags... |

Not sure yet.....I'm not a huge fan of target sights, so I'm leaning to a fixed set-up.. |

Excellent! If I may, I would replace the rear sight and get a nice set of wood grips. I think you got the better end of the deal for sure.

SGB hit it with that rear sight!
Your new toy looks nice, but that rear sight has got to go! Looks like it would snag way to easy, or worse give you one hell of a draw mark along your ribcage. |

It's not going to be a full time carry gun, but the sight is going. I'm going with the sight that was suggested by SGB and hellhound |
