I've been on a waiting list for a killer deal on like new Sig P220R's forever now, and I am fed up with waiting. I need a new .45. SO...

USP

Likes: Very tactical. Light rail. Accurate. Reliable. Good cross between a Sig Classic and a 1911 (cocked and locked or decocked).

Dislikes: Expensive mags. I have no fewer than 5 mags for defensive weapons, and prefer 10. Thats alot of money with a USP. HK isn't renowned for civ customer service either.

Sig GSR Revolution

Likes: Gorgeous. No MIM parts, anywhere. Sig has great Customer Service. Stupidly accurate.

Dislikes: None really, except that its $200 more than the HK. (which brings a USP Tac into the mix as well...)

P220R

Likes: Easy to get for cheap from CDNN. Lots of experience with a P220.

Dislikes: Would have to buy nightsights and have them installed, and several mags, making the initial lower price not as appealing.

So, what does the great hive mind say?

What are you looking to spend?

I just picked up one of the 220R's from CDNN, $649 NIB w/ Night Sights and 2 8 rounders

If you wanted one of the $479 Ex-Like New, they come with Night Sights already. only 1 7 rounder though

eta- I chose the SIG

You can pick up a good used or CPO P220R for about $600

New NS installed - under $200

Mags (5) $150-$190 for the P220.

You're still under $1K , Can you beat that with the HK or GSR ?

What are you going to do with it?

I voted HK for two three reasons. Versatility (easy to add a "can"), ridiculously accurate, CDNN has good prices on 'em.

SIG GSR or the 220 would be my pick however I would never say the HK is a substandard pistol I just like the other two better. The GSR Revolution is one of my next pistols.

Held one of the new SA XD in .45 ACP last Saturday.

Felt pretty good in the hand (and it wasn't rusty).

Easy, Sig 220.

+1 USP has a few advantages over the Sig. Trigger pull is better then the 220 IMO. Thumb safety AND decocker. But you have made good points about mags and dont forget unless you want to use strictly HK rail accessories you need an adapter. I had my choice and I went with the USP Tactical. In all honesty you can't really go wrong with either.

45acp + 1911a1 = PERFECTION

Anything else is heresy.

The 220R is nice, the 220ST is better. I would definitely take it over the other two. I like mine better than the USP and I hear the GSR still seems to have a few problems.

Check with Ordnance Outsellers to see what's in stock. James is good people.

I voted for the P220, but save for the GSR if that's what you really want. Don't compromise--you'll be wishing you hadn't later. Handle the USP before you buy one. I thought USPs were the shit until I held one--felt like trying to grip a brick.

I didn't know the used P220R's from CDNN had night sights already, that pretty much seals the deal. With a max budget around $900, I can probably get a P239 or a P230 with whats left over. I miss the P220 I used to have, it will be great to have another one.
