Bought a bunch of this from CTD, quite a while back when I could get it for less than $7 a box, it's now $8.97/50.

Mike

PS - never had any problems w/ it, (over 900+ rounds fired)

$200 per thousand is about as cheap as .45 gets. UMC is 50 round boxes times 20 is still 200 a case. generally fiocchi is better ammo. I've been looking for the same kind of thing. looks like I'll have to give some PMC a try.

US Navy issue Pistol BALL .45 ACP manufactured by Olen-Mathieson Corp. (Winchester). Have several boxes of that stuff. It's the genuine article!

Besides that I shot up some CCI Blazer TMJ.

I use Fiocchi, as it is usually 189/k here, and seems to be damn good ammo. I even found a case of hollow points for 240/k. I don't think there is better ammo for the money.

I use "Roll Your Own " brand .

It costs around $3.50 a box if I get the 200gr SWC / FMJ. And can cut it down to $3.00 a box if I use lead bullets .

Only factory stuff I have is self defense rounds.

I use and prefer the Federal American Eagle brand of 230 grain hard ball for practice, it's clean and reliable and the fired cases reload really well...

I was given some PMC 230 FMJ and it did as good as my reloads have been doing. I just shot it for the brass anyway. I want to try the S&B next. Has anyone had experience reloading any of the S&B brass in any caliber? Thanks.

I shoot S&B 166/1000 rounds havent had any trouble from it yet.

Whatever is on hand...from my lead reloads to some old Black Talons.
I like to know if my guns will work with anything...they do.

My H&K likes the S&B and the CCI aluminum ammo.

Wow you're lucky. I must have had a bad lot or something because I bought a 500 pack of Wolf. A full 50 rounds... 10% failed to ever go BANG! Another 100 rounds or so failed to extract. This was all out of my Glock 30 that had never had a hiccup prior to that and hasn't had one since. That is what I get for trying to save a few $$$. You have apparently had better luck but after that experience I haven't shot a single round of Wolf out of any of my guns (rifle or pistol).

I use CCI Blazer 230gr. Cheap, not reloadable (I don't reload anyway) and for some reason, it seems to be the ammo that cycles most reliably on my Glock 21 when I have my suppressor on it. No complaints here.... glad my suppressor doesn't have a taste for more expensive stuff.

I like to use Speer Lawman 230 gr for practice and plinking because it shoots to the same point of impact as my defense loads....the Speer Gold Dot. Plus, the Lawman is good, yet cheap ammo.
Link Posted: 9/22/2002 4:46:43 PM EDT
I also keep a few boxes of Speer Lawman around. They're for keeping a mag or two full of factory ammo for "oh shit" scenarios (home defense) which I hope never happens.

I figure that if I ever have to plug some scumbag burglar, I want it to be factory ammo that does it rather than my reloads so it doesn't alarm a judge or jury...but if I shoot somebody, believe me, it'll be a "clean" shooting in the eyes of the law.

My usual working ammo for the range is factory equivalent 230 gr. FMJ Zero brand bullets over Winchester 231 powder in any good condition shell, with a Winchester primer.

I roll 'em for about half the price of Lawman, per box, and I can't tell the difference between Lawman and my reloads once they're in the magazines.

UMC and PMC depending on availability. The Wolf- only goes in the AK. I'd rather not chance it in anything else. Especailly not in the USPC.
