Just picked a used one up.
There seems to be a portion missing or broken off from the top of the guide rod recess, that V portion.
Does anyone have one, to compare to my pic

Clearly looks jagged. Can't imagine that's intentional.

Well this sucks. That portion is milled real thin, I wonder what would cause that though.
I guess I'll email fn and see whats going on.
A few things I noticed was the inside of this gun was nasty like a mixture
of powder sludge mixed with oil and hoppes,
never seen so much crap but it looked like the shit that was oozing out of that filthy 14 rifle. Next the disassembly lever wasn't fully seated
which I fixed. I wonder if bubba been fiddling with the internals and ended up running
this thing without the lever not fully seated. Hmm, exterior of the gun looks new though.
I guess I could just say the hell with it and just shoot away,
I did buy it for a beater gun.

No problem, glad to help. I like it but I've only had it out once for about 100 rounds. I got it used from a friend.

Looks like that is done to create clearance for the barrel when it drops during cycling.

Thats a good point. When removing the barrel it just cleared that surface. I didn't know if they radiused that portion or something broke off. It looks like they just mill out two circles that overlap at the rear and call it day.
