Finally got one of these. Anything peculiar to them? I assume they take full size 92 mags?  Always been a fan of the Beretta 92, carried one for 10 years as an LEO.

While they will accept full size mag, the regular mag holds 13. Other than that.  Same as 92fs

Awesome shooting pistols.

Big as a full size, handle like a sub-compact.

I didn't like the balance on mine and the trigger was terrible.

They are great handguns.  Absolutely love mine.  I run a Wilson 14lb hammer spring that lightens up the trigger pull with no light strike issues.  Also changed out the mag release and trigger with Wilson Combat parts and put in the "G" conversion from Beretta.

All this makes a great little carry gun.

If you are looking for more 13 rounders, here is the cheapest place I've found.  Aimsurplus

And yes they will take all the other 92 series mags including the 30 round fun sticks.

Pic before the parts change out.

Great pistols. If your going to carry it a lot I recommend the Wilson combat/vz thin grips and the single sided safety. And the d spring to lighten up the trigger.

The typical Beretta stuff applies... "D" spring, etc.

I generally don't go in for compacts but I have always had a soft spot for the Beretta compacts.  They aren't as huge-feeling as the full size, hold a good bit of ammo and are very soft shooters.

I love mine. Mines the railed version. I've added a few things like a g lever, oversized mag release, Wilson thin grips, and a few others.

Best da/sa trigger I've ever felt. Smooth 8lb da and a very crisp 4.5lb sa. No creep, no over travel, short reset.  The d spring helps a lot for the da pull and a light stoning of the internal parts helps with the SA.

It was my EDC for a year, now it just gets carried maybe 10% because I'm on a 1911 kick right now. In an m3 tactical aiwb holster it conceals with just a t-shirt. I keep an 18 round mecgar as a reload at 11oclock. I also keep a 30rd mag in my center console to repel boarders.

Very smooth recoil and a great trigger really let's me shoot it very fast while staying on target.Attachment Attached File

Would the locking block and recoil spring be the same as on a full size 92?

D Spring is the only way

I don't think I'd go lighter than that though (d spring is 16lb)

Ever since Beretta came out with the G conversions where I could buy itI have thought about getting a 92 pistol because the biggest gripe I have is the slide safety.  I have a love hate relationship with the M9.  I just have to get over my CZ itch currently.

The triggers are not hard or expensive to improve.  They get better just shooting but Wilson makes some nice kit to improve them.  Few weeks back I did a kits and grip change on the BILs 92FS and he has a G conversion on order for me to install.

I've been running Wilson 14lb springs and elite hammers on several of my guns for years now.  Ran all types of steel case, brass and reloads.  NATO and CCI primers on my reloads.  Never once had a light strike.  Quite a few over on the Beretta forum run the same setup.  Makes for a really nice trigger.  However anyone should test your own gun before trusting it.  I trust mine with this setup 100%.

I have been looking for a NIB railed inox version for over a year.  The non railed version is easy to find, but the railed version is nearly impossible, with only used ones ones occasionally showing up on GB.  Hopefully Beretta will do a run of them now that their new factory is up and running.
