I've always wanted a little .25ACP mouse gun, and have been eyeing quite a few lately. I'm definitely open to other suggestions, but I feel that these two are the best looking of the bunch, and strike a good balance between novelty (small size) yet still being usable enough to enjoy at the range from time to time.

Honestly, I'm more drawn to the Colt Jr./Astra Cub, since it looks better and I enjoy external hammers, but I hear the FN is better made. Any thoughts from those who've had both? Or any suggestions to look at something else? This thing will be all about uniqueness and novelty. I don't plan to actually carry it, but it will get used. What say ye?Attachment Attached File

I always preferred the feel of the Browning better.

I have a Beretta 950... I like the idea of a tip up barrel for the tiny pistols...mine is in .25acp, but rather wish it were in .22short

I have a baby browning. Used to carry it years ago before the recent crop of 380's that are roughly the same size.

I did a thread a while ago on reloading .25acp

I used to own a Raven in .25 acp.  It was OK to shoot.  But, the ammo was expensive.

Ammo cost wise, 9mm is just a more logical choice.  Not to mention, that it's more of a stopper.  But then, the .32 acp in a Kel Tec called to me.

Anyway, I sold it off.

Aloha, Mark

My local shop got a Colt 25 for 299 and the Astra for 299 I almost picked one out but I did not get one . I carry a full size gun most of the time but the 25 have a purpose .

I have a FN 1906 and a Beretta Jetfire 950B  in 25 acp. The FN is a better gun and more comfortable to shoot as well. The FN 1906 (1905) design became the Colt 1908 Vest Pocket. A baby browning and Colt Junior are at the top of my mouse gun WTB list.

For those complaining about cost of ammo in 25acp 1000 rounds of S&B for $192 plus shipping or less.

My FN:

I love .25's. I've got a Bauer copy of a Baby Browning, tiny little thing. I've also got a Beretta 418 (James Bond's first gun) and a French Mikros.

I'd like to get one of the little Astras.

I have a Beretta and its fun to shoot. Just be careful with slide bite.
Would like to pick up a FN one day.

For many years ( decades) before all the small 32/380 pistols came out my brother carried a 25 as a police backup either a Colt or beretta.both guns are far more accurate and reliable than give credit for, with my brother winning some of the ppc bug gun matches we shot in with his 25 beretta ( for perspective on this it is a 48 round match using a b27 target with 24 of the rounds fired from 25 yards)
He enjoys the 25 so much we reload the caliber( for get using a progressive newbies!) a cut off 22 case with a homemade handle to dip powder and careful handling of tiny cases and bullets!

The Colt Juniors, which were made by Astra, are really nice shooters. I have the same pistol in .22 Short, called the Astra Cub.

I like the Baby Browning.  I have had a couple of FN (European market) marked ones.  The last one had an aluminum frame.  If you can find a CZ 45 6.35 cal, they are nice to.

Regards

Thanks for the replies, everyone!

A local shop happened to have a Colt Junior and a PSP-25 listed on GunBroker. The Junior ended without a bid, but the PSP-25 sold before I could place a bid. I stopped by and had a look at them both. That PSP-25/Baby Browning was unbelievably tiny! I'll be keeping my eyes open for another at a good price.

As for the Junior, I decided to take it home. It's in pretty good shape with light bluing wear throughout, being just a little heavier near the muzzle and the rear of the grip. The grips will probably need to be replaced if I want it to look its best (one is warped), but it's mechanically sound and passes a function test. Inside, everything looks great. The mag isn't Colt, but I bought it as a shooter rather than a collector piece. I'll probably wind up buying a few Triple K mags as spares. I'll try to get a few photos soon!
