Thinking of jumping in to .357sig with a compact pistol like the G32.
Also see XD has something in.357sig that looks good.
Anything else I'm missing? Used to have a Sig 220 & 226 but I'm not looking to spend that much right now...

One of my EDCs is a Sig P320 compact (in .357) and I can swap the FCU to the subcompact frame if desired.

Ammo cost and availability is why I dumped my G32 for a G19.  I shot far more 40 and 9 out of my G32 than I did 357.  I would not do it over again since I can shoot 100-150 rounds of 9 for the cost of 1 box of 357.  It does have a bit more recoil than 9 and on a timer I am faster with a 9 by a pretty good margin.

On Sig's site they show the subcompact & carry 320 available in .357sig but not the compact or full size. Is that right?

Seems .357sig would be an option in all 320s or at least the larger frames.

It should be, but then it's all so modular you should be able to order your pistol À la carte.

I started with the .357 Carry, bought the Compact frame and sold the Carry frame.

Go with hk usp compact .40 and buy 357sig barrel for barrel swap.

357sig compacts are very rare.

P239 is an option but not particularly compact.

If you can find one a HK P2000sk .357 sig  is just the  ticket !

I really like my HK P2000 40cal with factory HK 357 Sig barrel.  Same mags, just a simple barrel swap to go back to .40 short and weak.  Small, ergonomic with just enough barrel length to giv the 357 Underwood rounds I use some umph.

In this caliber I think the G32 fits perfect.

I have several 357 Sigs and carry them all.  I stopped a robbery at a Hometown Buffet with my Sig 229.  Since then I have a S&W MPC in 357 Sig and a Glock 32 Ported.  My 229 is in my go bag and it was the first thing in my car when we had to evac because of the Monument fire.  ALL of these guns are outstanding but I would go for the one you can afford enough to get a lot of ammo to practice with and go to at least one Two day formal training.

I have the Glock 31 and like it a lot. My perceived recoil is twice that of my 10mm and three times that of .45 ACP. It's definitely controllable with practice obviously.

Never had a fail to cycle with it though :) The trick is to buy ammo in bulk when there are sales!

If I could do it again I might get a G32 just to have it slightly smaller.

It just occurred to me that you can buy the P320 subcompact and a compact size magazine with an X-grip adapter and now you have a short barreled compact.

Did that make any sense?

Buy a police trade in G23 then a .357 conversion barrel.  Then a 9mm conversion barrel. Then....

Well, you get the point.  The only reason I have a Glock 40 anything is because of conversion barrels.

Glock 27 then get a .357 sig conversion barrel.

You don't need a conversion barrel.  A normal barrel will do

Well I went to my favorite local LGS yesterday asking about .357sig options and he told me that he HAD two police trade-in p226s w/SRT in .357 sig. Under $500. Gone.

So I went with a G32, a good starting point. Could have had an XD for $130 less which is a good deal but comes with two 10 round mags. So I'd have more money in mags vs the G32. And wasn't sure how parts availability would be for a caliber Springfield isn't backing anymore.

And I've got a TNW ASR carbine in 10mm, if the .357 sig runs in 10mm mags all I'd need is a new barrel for a caliber swap, which is plug n play on the ASR. I'll bet some hot .357 sig out of a 16" barrel would move along.

But he's keeping an eye out for another trade-in P226...

Tag - I like the idea of 357sig (I like 38 Super as well, but it's more difficult to find compact guns chambered in it, and 357sig brings a little more to the table anyway)...

I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to buy a P2000/LEM in .40 and a barrel in .357Sig (I like the HK), or buy a .357sig conversion for my Sig 229/M11A1 (it'll be a little bit less than the HK/barrel, but I think the trigger will take more work to master on the Sig)...or buy a G32, or G32 upper half for one of my existing Glock frames.

They're all within $50 give or take...the HK would be within $100, buying a used HK and then the barrel off ebay or gunbroker..I'm just not sure which would be the best way to go. Both HK and Sig put a lot of engineering and thought into their .40 and 357 guns, but the Glock is pretty ubiquitous...

You bought what I would have said, Glock 32
I got 1,358 fps average (5 shot) with HST

Another vote for a G23 or G27 then a standard .357Sig barrel, all done!

Well my G32 does have a little more recoil than my old g19 but very manageable. Surprising since the .357 sig had a LOT more audible muzzle blast. I also brought my g40 and shot Sig Elite 10mm & Sig Elite .357 side by side, the g32 was almost as easy to handle as the g40.

I had both and loved both. Had to choose one in divorce. I chose the G32.

Whatever makes you sleep better...  No one gets a choice in a divorce and goes for the one that cost half as much as the other.  Especially when the other was made with that particular caliber.  I hate you got divorced.  I'm more sympathetic to that than I am a death.
