This topic seems to come up a bit in random handgun threads.
This thing was my sole carry gun for some time: 20140723_111359 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr The worst thing about it is surface rust after sweating on it all it all day in the summer. It comes off easily enough, but leaves it with a little more patina every time. It has too many scars to bother coating it. It's also painful to run with. It literally beats the crap out of me when doing so It's been largely replaced by this in that role: 20151219_083424 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr The guns are flat for carry and easy to shoot. One is just a bit big and heavy. The other is just right. This is a surprisingly comfortable carry. Dare I say in that holster it's the most comfortable combo I've got. Due to fear of finish wear it's not used often. 20140914_093831 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr 20140921_222918 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr An oversized set of stocks were cut to boot length and heavily re-profiled. It helps tremendously and still maintains excellent comfort and control. 20140814_162611 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr This CZ is an occasional carry without the TLR-2. I'd love to have a quality flush magazine for it. It's a bit wide/bulky for regular use. This pistol has somehow become an EDC. It's big, but light and is comfortable and concealable in a pancake style holster. 20160428_085204 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr I'm not totally in love with it, but it's practical and my easiest centerfire pistol to shoot fast. It's easily my favorite polymer framed pistol out there. The auto gang, together. 20160428_085721 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr Share your thoughts. Lemme see your big stupid carry guns. |

Glock 27, any bigger and I would have to dress around the gun and buy special sized clothes.
SUB-2000. I have a bright neon,"This man has no fashion sense!" bag for it.
Glock 23 in the pocket, and occasionally, the Lego-gripped 1911 on the hip or in a shoulder holster. |

RIA 1911A1 FS.
It's large and heavy, but slim and a good belt+holster makes it pretty much effortless to carry OWB. |
The biggest l cart is my Colt Combat Elite.
My revolvers are all too big except for field use. Blackhawks or New Model Blackhawks with 4.75", 6.5" and 7.5". My S&W Model 29 has the 8+ inch barrel. |
Waiting for the smugface of the A-10 pilot who comes in and says GAU-8
I used to carry a 1911 regularly, but these days a 9mm Shield, unless I'm travelling, then it's my M&P 9L (and maybe the AR pistol in the back). |
The biggest gun I carried regularly is a G26.....
I've carried a 1911, M9 and HiPower but on a very limited basis. I like the smaller 1911 you have for carry. Which model is that? I think if I wanted to carry something more than my 442, something like that would be a really good option. What is your tips on what to wear with OWB in warmer weather. Since you're from Florida..... |
Have done Beretta 92FS with 20rnd optimized mag. Also ParaOrdinance P14 or Glock 22.
Glock 22 is my everyday carry for over 8 years. Even 4in model 29 with smaller square butt grips |
FNP-45 Taxtical in Bravo Company holster, biggest gun I carry for sure!! Often it's open carry though. Biggest gun I conceal carry would be a full size 1911 or M&P 9.
My regular carry gun these days is a XDS .45 with the 3.3 inch barrel. I also carry a Shield 9mm on a regular basis. My backup is a Ruger LCP Custom.
In the past I have carried a Beretta 92, SIG 220 or 226, Glock 22, or a Glock 23 all for years at a time. I've gotten a lot more lazy in middle age. |
VP9 with a TLR-1 on and off duty...until I can score a VP9SK for off-duty carry.
I carried a full sized steel 1911 for years
these days, I frequently carry a full sized M&P with a proper belt designed for CCW and a quality holster, it's not a chore . |

Carried a SS Combat Commander for over 20 years. Now I carry a G27.

For best concealment Shield 9mm. When going somewhere don't care or worry about a little print Glock 19 or 23 both Gen 4's. Use Comptac Minotaur's for all.

I'm not the OP, but I carry full size guns OWB. I wear straight hem button down casual shirts. As a bonus, I can wear them to work, too. View Quote |

Glock 19. If I don't carry the 19, I have a Seecamp 380 in my pocket.

With the steel framed 1911 I like something between myself and the gun...as the sweat rusts it up shockingly fast. One day spent outside sweating profusely had me upon seeing the state the gun was in. ETA: The smaller 1911 is a Springfield Range Officer Compact in 9mm. ...and the wife has a BHP 40 that carries nicely, but I'm weird about carrying other people's guns. It just don't feel right, man. |

By keen observation I deduct you carry seldom as all holsters are new. View Quote That holster is far from new. It's been worn over the same period. A few years ago both the gun and holster were ran the F over. Some road rash is evident on both. The others go back to 2012/2013 when I started branching out a bit. The newest is the VP9 which has been carried roughly five days a week for the past year plus. The least carried is the CZ as it only happens when I'm missing it a bit. It generally stays in the night stand. I carry 24/7 save where prohibited...and generally in pairs. Even my most worn ankle and pocket holsters are in good shape. These are in the carry rotation as well. 20160407_115919 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr 20150312_104857 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr 20150109_153932 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr 20151117_103945(0) by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr Aside from lint and the occasional walk around town the guns and gear are generally not in adverse conditions...save for that one time my shit got ran over... |

Your a better man then me. In our FL tee shirt and shor Rd weather I pretty much just roll with my lcp in my pocket.

For a while I carried my 19, but I think it printed worse than I tell.
Then I switched to a G26 and was much more satisfied. The shorter grip really helped with concealment at the hip. Lately, I carry the G43 especially because we're about to go into summer here. Also, it is the most discrete firearm to carry I own so that's important for work. I'll probably rotate to the G26 after work and definitely in the winter months. |
I don't carry any of my big guns regularly preferring my Glock 43 for daily carry. If I am worried about threats I will upgrade to the Glock 19 or the Glock 20.
In the woods, especially bear hunting then I carry a "real" gun either a 45 Colt Redhawk or 454 Casull Super Redhawk but I've never carried these as a ccw gun. Perhaps when the liberals in body armor come to collect guns and I need to drive a point home I would turn to the bigbores |
