Found this pistol at a LGS. Its a Navy Arms import.

No, not sbr. Original inglis exempt from nfa.

Wrong. It's an SBR because it meets the definition of SBR in the NFA.
ATF exempts it from the purview (ie. no tax stamp required) of the National Firearms Act because of its status as a curio or relic.

Not all "original Inglis" are exempt either. To have a shoulder stock, the Inglis must be a No. 1 Chinese Contract. (has a letter C in the serial# and tangent rear sight).
Inglis Hi Powers with fixed rear sights are not exempt, even with a factory stock slot.

It's not a rifle.  It's a pistol with a shoulder stock.  Don't care what the government wants to call it.

So what's it like shooting this rig?  Does it feel like the slide is going to hit your nose?  My old eyes aren't that fond of the tangent sight picture with that little V and small front post.  Seems like the stock would make up for all that though.  Very cool set up.

Shooting with the stock attached is stable and comfortable. I do agree about the small v notch sights.
