Hi there-
I'm not very familiar with CZ's at all, and was wondering if I could get some opinions on the Witness pistols for IPSC etc. that I've seen on the back of SGN and on the website. I'd like to get a better gun than the one I've got for the game, but I want to avoid Glock and can't afford to spring for a match quality 1911. One person I know recommended CZ because of the 1911 style SA/external safety that I'm accustomed to.
Anybody want to shed some light on the subject as far as quality, price, and where to look for them?

Edit: remembered the name of the model I was looking at on the back cover of SGN- it was the Witness Match.

A few weeks back I put about 100 rounds through a friends CZ (not sure which model) and the gun was completely reliable and dead nuts accurate.

CZ does not make the Witness line of pistols.  Witnesses are made by Tanfoglio and imported by European American Armory.  They are however a clone of the CZ 75 family.

Sorry- should clarify that I mean that I'm not familiar with the CZ-75, etc. platform. I've heard that they're a solid piece of work.

i own a cz-75 sa. i use it for IPSC. its frickin great! mines a 9mm and it will eat ANYTHING except winchester white box VP. orther than that its dead reliable. brown bear? eats it like pop corn. wolf? i threw in a 16 lb recoil spring and the cz just loves this stuff. good on the poppers too (wolf is HOT)

the SA model is intended for sport shooting like IPSC or IDPA. bsically its the 85 frame, the 75's slide, a single action mechnaism with a commander hammer, and a drop free spring. i paid $380 for mine and after having it for the last 6 or 8 months and about 2000 rounds later its still running like a champ.
