This is my CCW. They don't make this one anymore. It is a light weight compact. Very nice shooter!

VERY NICE!

what model is it?

Where do you get that ammo?

Nice gune BTW, I'm just no longer a fan of anything "shortified", mine looks exactly like that, but grown up.

Rocky 9_5
The model PX9503L does look like the Champion, but is 2 oz. lighter and only has a 6rd mag. Any gun from Springfield is a fine gun. You can't go wrong and the customer service is the best in my opinion! I sent mine back asking them to polish the ramp and they did which was going to cost my $60 at a gun shop. They also replaced all the springs in it, added a ext. recoil spring guide and reparkerized it because I had put a scratch on it. Now That is SERVICE!

What's the difference between this & the SA Micro model I have?
Link Posted: 11/14/2005 10:13:46 AM EDT
I'm really not sure?
Link Posted: 11/14/2005 12:08:03 PM EDT
The difference is the length of the barrel and slide. The Micro and Ultra Compact models have 3" and 3.5" barrels, respectively. The Compact has a 4" or 4.25" barrel, I don't recall exactly.

I had one not too long ago but ended up getting rid of it. I loved the idea of it: Officer frame, lightweight, short barrel. I just couldn't stand shooting it.

This is my SA CCW(Micro Compact)

Hey WolfFox.....Is that a F.I.S.T. holster? I have one of their holsters for my XD9 Subcompact and could not be more impressed with the workmanship. Nice pic!!!!

No. It's a Galco and very well made.

Here's mine:
Springfield Micro Compact
Milt Sparks VM-II
Wilson 7rd Officer mags w/steel baseplates
Stoked with 230gr Winchester Ranger RA45T

It runs like a clock after ripping out the ILS internal locking MSH and replacing the Ti firing pin & gorilla firing pin spring.

Installed a Wilson flat MSH, Wolff XP firing pin spring, Ed Brown steel 'Springfield' firing pin, Ed Brown tactical thumb safety (single), & Ed Brown Officer's rebuild kit.

Sounds like there's nothing left SA except the slide & frame?

Hehe

Naw, the fire control group (trigger, sear, hammer, disconnector, ect) are all still stock, as well as the barrel, recoil spring assembly & grip panels.

Just a little tuning up that's all.

90% of those upgrades were done to remove Springfield ILS system as I stated earlier, as they install non-standard MSH & MSH internals, as well as the Ti firing pin & heavy firing pin spring.

I would have left the firing pin & spring alone, except they caused light primer strikes with the standard Officers MSH parts.

You can't expect a stock Tarus off the lot to perform like a nascar without a couple tweaks here & there can you???

TXAGGIECCL
where did you get the ammo and cost?
thanks
Link Posted: 12/27/2005 9:04:16 AM EDT
I bought the case thru a friend and he gets it for about $160 (10-50rd boxes, 500rd cases).

Too good of a deal to pass up!

Thay are sweet shooters. If you go with the wilson mags, you can run 7+1 instead of 6+1.

Meaning it's the 4" bbl with the short grip? Or the 4" bbl with a normal grip?
Link Posted: 12/28/2005 5:44:59 PM EDT
Probably the SA 4" w/ Officers grip. I tried to get ahold of one last March & couldn't find one, hence the 3" Micro. I've been pleased with the Micro and the added weight reduction is very nice compared to a 5" steel gun.

I've been hugely happy with the CCW benefits of the my Micro! I still get all the bennies of a .45acp, I have a LW frame, a shortened slide for IWB carry while driving, a 1911 trigger and controls, the ease of quick mag changes & the reliability of a ramped barrel. A package that's very difficult to beat, IMO.

Is that the officer mags or just regular 7 round mag?
Link Posted: 1/4/2006 7:06:07 AM EDT
That looks like the Officer sized 7rd Wilson mags. They barely stick out, maybe 1/8". A regular Gov mag sticks out at least 1/2-3/4" depending on its design.

I have a Wilson 47 OX for my Micro, it sticks out about the same as their 47D mags in a full size. Probably want a 47 OXC, their low profile with steel base plate. It is what I think I see pictured there.

I also have two Kmber 7 round mags that sit flush with the grip just like the factory 6 rounders. Seem pretty good so far....

Thanks T Bone,
I pick up a couple of Wilson 47 OX from a user on here, but they haven’t come yet. You saying that the Kimber 7 round mags will fit too?
