I know they are set up for the 6 Oclock hold but mine is shooting close to 3 inches high per 10 yards. 2-2.5 at 7 yards, 7-8 at 25yards, and around 15 at 50 yards.

I am using 230g S&B. For practical/defensive purposes this is fine as I just aim center mass. My question is when does the slow 45 rainbow trajectory catch up to the sights? Am I going to be shooting high at 100 yards?

Fixed sights rarely work with all ammo. You need a taller front sight post or a lower rear notch.

Before replacing any sights try a wider variety of ammo. 230 grain FMJ is old school known for it's reliability and very little else.

I like 185 and 200 grain bullets in .45acp.

Well 230g was also the cheapest 45 at Aim. I will try some 185 or 200 and see what happens. I think I have heard before that the heavier ammo in a 1911 shoots higher most of the time? Doesn't make sense to me.

The heavier bullet moves a bit slower and the recoil lifts the barrel a bit higher before the bullet leaves the gun.

Well I got an email stating my pistol is en route back to me.  I will post what they did when I get it back.  Not a bad turn around time though!

I shot a couple Springfield Armory RO this last weekend and both shot a little high, probably will try the different ammo route before considering anything else.

Golly Gee!

I bought a Springfield Loaded this afternoon, and got home just in time to fire a couple of shots.  Yes, it shot high.

No big deal.  I need to to give it a good shakedown, and then decide what to do.  I like the night sights.

While it shot high, it grouped nicely.  (Yes, I know a 2 shot group is worthless).

I think it is a winner.  But it does need more testing.
