I seldom shoot the revolvers these days.  Shot the old Ruger Speed Six about 6 weeks ago???  Before that, it was probably about 4 years ago we shot a couple .44 magnums (Ruger Super Blackhawk and Dan Wesson).

Anyway, I took pictures of the Speed Six prior to going to the range, partly because the ammo (125 grain hollow points) was over 30 years old and looked it.  Then I took pictures of the targets shot with that ammo.  It still kicks ass.  125's from a 2&3/4" barrel will get your attention compared to the 9's and .40's.

I bobbed the hammer when I got the revolver back in 1982.  I wanted a back up gun for winter use and carried it in my duty jacket, right pocket, with the speed loaders in my left jack pocket.

better pic of the ammo in the speed loaders, you can see how dark the jacket and even the lead is due to age

The target (1st time I've shot this one in probably 25 years.)  Nine yds., 6 shots.

Just snagged this S&W US Army Model 1917 for the unbelievable price of $500.

She's in super tight mechanical condition, the finish is amazing for a 100 year old wheel gun, she didn't go through a re-arsenal, all the WWI acceptance stamps are crisp and clear.

Not one of my usual humble brag threads of where I rob the evidence locker but I think I did well.

Dude, your as bad as Hardshell.  My goodness you have such a nice collection.  That is a beautiful revolver there.  I'm guessing that was a pretty darned good price.  I saw a Victory model in the cabinet of a place for 1200.......  ugh.

114 Year Old Colt New Service in .45 Colt that's been rode hard and put away wet. Paid $25 for it a few years back.

Can still hit plates at 30 yards one handed.

Took the S&W 1917 to the range also. For a 100 year old revolver. It shots like it is brand new.

I decided I need to take pictures of my revolvers.  It'll take a while.....  I figured I'd start with the ones I carry the most:

These are the pocket guns I carry on a regular basis.  Upper left is a Smith 360, lower left is a Smith 442 Pinto, upper right is a Smith 60, lower right is a Colt Magnum Carry.

Nice!  Good deal too.  I've got plenty of Smiths but I don't have a 15.  I need to find a good one some day.

Recently got my 340PD back from Dave Lauck.

Excellent sights on a 340PD dialed in for 125 gr. Speer Gold Dots.

Very happy with his sights and trigger work.

I've had a couple of 681 police trade ins.  Both were excellent shooters, shot to the sights and had great actions.

What exactly is that wrapped around your boot grips?  I'm thinking about changing my Tamers to boot grips but need just a little bit more on the backstrap to put my fingers in the right spot.  Thinking about wrapping a inner tube around my laminated wood grips.  But I could go this route with the standard rubber boot grips.

Thanks. I've also got its little brother, an SP101.

I really like the GP100 better though.

Yesterday's acquisition.  100 year old S&W M&P in pretty good shape.  Not many 5" round butts from that era.
