Cabelas has a used 686-6  for $450.00. Seems to be in pretty good shape, though it could use a good polishing. Their NIB price is $570.00, which I think is a bit steep. I hear great things about the 686 and the PD I work for has about 5K rounds of Federal and Winchester .357 available for my disposal. That much free ammo pretty much constitues a new gun purchase.

Our local shop has them NIB for $495.00.  So yes, $450.00 used seems high.  I see your in PA.  How close are you S.E. PA, Delaware County?

Little bit high.  $400-425 is the range it SHOULD be.

If it's perfect, or near, then it's OK.

686's are the best .357's on Earth, IMO.

You can always ask if they'll come down to $400 even......but 5000 rounds of free ammo can be seen as that discount too!!  I picked up a used but like new condition 686-5 in the 6" for $350 about a year ago and if I run into a similar priced one would get another!!  Great wheelguns!!

If they came in blued steel, I'd buy one.

S&W had a terrible time selling the NIB 586s when they first brought out the 586/686 guns.  I think way back 1986, when I was looking for my first revovler, the NIB 686s were running around $300, and the 586s were running around $260-$275, or thereabouts.

Jake94134: To me that would be tad high, but over the long haul, you won't be loosing any money, notice what the prices back then and the prices today are.

Well, Millers's Sporting Goods is running that special through the end of the month.  Call Joe Miller at 610-485-1490.  He is fair and honest, good to deal with.  If you take I95 S. exit at Chichester Ave. (last exit before you hit Delaware).  Left on Chi Ave and he is one mile down.  I would do $495 NIB before I did $400 used, unless I knew the guy and it was hardly shot.
