How hard is the trigger pull on the Ruger P-series DAO pistols.

I own a P89 Saftey model and I love it, but I would like a DAO for carry.

But if the double action pull on the DAO pistols is like the first double action shot on my P89 then I will probably get a decocker.

I am specifically deciding between the P97 Decocker or DAO.

I can't comment about the DAO version, but I have a P97DC that has an excellent trigger. Great shooter!

The double action 1st shot on my KP-95DC is very good and easily controlled.

Have you considered a decock only?

It's excellent and simple.

Having any negative thoughts about the DAO were erased at the range.
While not my 1st choice, I found I could do quite well with it...a pleasant surprise.
IMO, the decocker gives you both...the DA first shot and the rest in SA (quicker and easier)with the ability to decock and start over from DA again.
And never a chance of leaving a safety on by mistake.
