I've been wanting a set of these Kirinite grips from Eagle for years now but they were just too expensive.  Paying $130 before shipping is hard to do when your broke so I put it off for about 3-4 years.  This year I got some Christmas money and finally decided to go for it.

I know it won't appeal to you guys but it's for me not you lol.  Eagle "Art Jewel" collection Kirinite Gunfighter grips.  They are so nice I REALLY want another set for my stainless Ruger New Vaquero.  Hopefully, it won't take another 3-4 years.

After I bought my Mark III Hunter, I immediately ordered a pair of the factory cocobolo grips for my beloved Mark III 6 7/8" Tapered Barrel Stainless Target Model, and yes they fit perfectly.  The only place that they do not mate perfectly to the frame is the small cutaway for the Mark III's 1911 style mag Release, which is barely noticeable. I did get a macro shot in one of my pictures of it, for anyone who is interested. The cocobolo grips feel better than the stock black plastic grips as well, and have turned out to be a lot more damage resistant than I would have guessed that they would be.

Speaking of wood, and grips, I just got a new set of Altamont laminated Cocobolo grips for my 10" Mark II target model.

The first two pictures below are her old spalted & flamed maple grip panels with just some tung oil rubbed into them, and they are admittedly not bad at all,
especially for a home grown pair...erm...so to speak. They are also not for sale, unless of course someone wants to pay me entirely to much for them.

Everything but my wife, my family, and my dogs has a price...and maybe my bike.

And the next two pictures below are her new grips. Way past not bad at all to just flat bad ass, in both the cosmetic and ergonomic departments.

I cannot stress how INCREDIBLE these grips are if you wear 3XL gloves on your oversize bear paws like I do.
These grips elevated this gun from being an awesome pistol that I love, to feeling like I am pushing my hand into a custom fit solid glove that turns her into an almost organic extension of my arm.

I am also waiting for my Silencerco White Sparrow, at which point my I will thread my Ruger and move the front sight back just enough to make room for the threads...which will complete her adventure to attaining her absolutely amazing awesomeness.

I also feel like I should plug the new case I bought for her. Almost nothing is large enough without being both too large and too expensive. But, I literally tripped over this "ADG Sports" (never heard of 'em) case at my local B rick-N-Mortar here for $19.99 and it is roomy and tough.

The burgundy foam was my addition. It is Auralex Wedge foam for soundproofing and tuning the vibrations in recording studios. It is stiffer than any gun case foam I've ever had, and the natural wedges/ridges keep everything in the same place as you originally put it before you tossed it around some, without having to cut the interior to fit whatever you're carrying around then, knowing it will change again and again. The only foam trimming I did was to the outer edges to fit the foam inside of the case itself. And yeah, I can toss the case around, drop it, whatever so far, and even the "loose" mags in the pictures are still right where I left them when I locked the case.

Has anyone else had any experience with this brand of cases you want to share? I think I'll be looking for more very soon.

And...no. You do not want to know what I concocted for dinner.

Thanks,

It sat unfired since the early 80's.

I mounted the new barrel and unknowingly improperly assembled the pistol.

I didn't realize it, as I left it with my father while I was away in the USMC and later after I retired in 1996 (I had other 22 pistols).

When he passed away in 2005, I regained possession, but left it untouched in it's case.

One day, I functioned checked it - there was no fire!

A few weeks ago, I reassembled it correctly and shot it for the first time with the AMT barrel attached.

1981 Mk I purchased used about 2-3 weeks ago. Gun shop on N 19th Ave in Phx had 2 in the case, I took the nicer one home for $250. The next  day I took a non-gun buddy of mine to the range and he got the honor of putting the first rounds downrange. Needless to say, he loved it.
