Ok, local fun shop got a new Match Champion with adjustable sights, and I've been drooling over one for a while now. Price is $700 for NIB.

I'm thinking of selling my nice condition, blued 1974 5" Security Six, and ponying up to the MC.

What say you guys? I love my Six, just think I'd shoot the match more, and better.

The match is a spectacular firearm.

I'd do that trade.

It's not a even trade. I think I can get $400 in trade for the SS, the dealer offered $350, but I bet I can get him to up it. But I'm hoping to pull $450 or $500 at a gunshow this weekend.

$500 for a Six will be top dollar.  Like new in the box top dollar.  I like the Six and Rugers in general but they always take a hit on the used market.

I auctioned off two Six-Series snubs last year, one Security and one Speed Six. I got $400 apiece and those are the most popular versions. If you get $400 count yourself lucky.

I far prefer the feel of the Security Six over the GP-100. It's about as svelte as Ruger can get with a double action revolver. The GP just always seemed really clunky to me.

Sell the SS and get the MC. Much better gun and its supported by Ruger.

hard one but I'd keep the six as I really like them.  Im sure you know they are out of production as well.  I sold my Six and regret it, I have a GP100 but I can not get myself to like it as much

How dare you think of committing Blasphemy. Never sell, Keep and let it age like a fine wine in the back of the gun safe. :)

Just work a extra week or two of over time. Then you can buy another...

I have a personal rule - I only sell guns that are still in production. Every time I break that rule, I regret it later.

If the SS was stainless I'd keep it.  I think I'd get the MC.

I really miss my SS 4 inch Sec Six. It was easy to nail squirrels at 20 yards in single action. It was so stinking accurate. Sold it to a buddy who really wanted it for his wife. They since divorced and she kept the revolver t
