Well, I was dead set that my next Kimber would be a Pro Carry w/night sights. I also really was interested in a Ten II. It seemed, from what I have read, that it would really fit in a perfect spot in my handgun setup. Well, long story short, I looked at one at my dealer today, and just fell in love with it! Holy cow! The price was unbelievable, AND, he has two new factory high caps for it. Going to put it on layaway and hopefully get enough Christmas $$ to pay it off. I really thought that the Pro Carry would be my next one, but the Ten II is just too good to pass up! Kimber ROCKS! I only wish someone would have turned me on to them sooner!

Congrats!

I'm in the process of possibly getting the Ultra Carry 2. I can hardly wait, this will be my first 1911 type pistol and my first .45.

Those are some perty guns aren't they?

are hicap (more than Ten) available ?
the name of the pistol kind of suggests they would never be made, but i had heard of 14 rounders ?

Yes, pre-ban factory 14 rounders are available. I got 2 with the gun. That was my main reason for getting it. It gives me evrything I love about a 1911, and high capacity to boot.

Yes, VA, I am VERY happy with these. I traded my TLE to get it, but I still have the TLE/RL. I might pick up another TLE one day next year, but if the SHTF tomorrow, I'm set.
Still going to get a Pro Carry, and I'd like one more fullsize. Have to see what the next year brings, but these two are keeping me VERY happy for now. Only bad thing about it, is that the mags are a bit large, and since I always carry at least 2 spare mags on me for whatever gun I am carrying, they are a bit bulky. Its a small inconvenience though that is easily dealt with. 43 rounds of .45 is a VERY comforting thing.

Who makes those hicaps and will they fit in a Pro Carry 2 stainless? That is what I have just about decided on, went to the funshow today and checked them out, WOW!

Check out the Springfield Armory Milspec 1911 if you are looking for a full sized 1911, I saw those at the funshow for $369. It is a real nice gun but I am set on the 4" version.

They are factory Kimber mags. They have a pretty good supply of preban mags. Yes, they will fit the Pro Ten since it uses the same frame.

Just to let you know, my Kimber rep told me last week that they are now out of Pre-ban HI-caps. I guess we'll just have to wait until Sept '04 to see if we can get more.

Would P-14 mags work?

I compared some just the other day to the Kimber mags. There is just enough difference in size and shape that I dont think they will work.

i already got a maytag.  i wonder if i can trade that in and pay the different for a kimber.

From what Kimber told me, Para-Ordnance mags will not work. Their double-stack frames were made by Bul in Israel. You'd think wide body 1911's would be standard like the single stacks.

SA and Para mags are interchangeable but not Kimbers. The steel and polymer frames are slightly different. I do remember impactguns having some of the Kimber hicaps a little while ago. They were not cheap though.

Edited to add: Congrats on another nice looking Kimber. Once again I am envious. I have my eye on the stainless TLE my local shop just got in.
