I'm think about swaping the full length for a Ed Brown 2 piece standard length. Is this just a "parts swap"? or is their more too it?

Lumpy, do you recommend the Ed Brown guide rail as a replacement part on my Kimber series 1 Custom? I have the full length and would like a stnadard length guide rail.
