All I can say is "Damn!" I have several Kimbers and haven't seen the MIM issue, but, then again, all of my Kimbers are the upper level stuff...Limited Editions, Supermatches....etc...

IIRC, the same exact parts are in the upper and lower level Kimbers. The difference is in the fitting of the parts...or lack thereof.

Glad I followed SGB's advise. On my Warrior I replaced with Ed Brown parts: barrel bushing, slide stop, firing pin, extractor and firing pin stop. One of these days I will get around to hammer, sear, disconnector and safety.

I have been shooting my Kimber for several years, I would say at least 5. I think I will take it out and try to break it today. I doubt that will happen.

Are you replacing the MIM hammer, sear and disconnector also ? I don't "read" about many problems with those parts and my experience is good with them. Not so?

I do see pictures of broken bushings hough.

Not much left.

Not to Hijack this thread but do you have a website with all the things you sell from Wilson Combat listed?

The fundamental problem that I have with the Kimber Warrior is that with the guns going for around 1K to 1100 dollars and the replacement parts costing 160, I could almost get a SA G.I. and have it built to a much higher level. Just my .02 cents.

I did crack a machined bar sto bushing between the legs. Of course it was a lot more than 8 rounds, more like 80,000+

Still have that bushing btw

Elite Firearms in Kentucky has had numerous problems with a few of the MIM parts.

most prevalently...the ambi-safety.

many are brought in by customers after they snap in half.

I haven't had any MIM parts breakage.

Kblagg's parts package sounds like a great deal.

Looks like it's going to be my next purchase

kblagg - Can you put together a kit for the 25th Anniversary Kimber as well? It should be close to the Warrior without the Ambi safety.
