I can't get one of these guns out of my mind... I've been close to buying one for years, but just have never pulled the trigger. Leaning toward the one that includes the .44 and .50AE barrel. Where have y'all purchased yours?

TIA

Trade in - local gun shop. .50 AE Parkerized. I bought the stuff to reload for it because I didn't see much of a future at 2.00+ per round.

The reloading stuff was amortized after less 100 rounds. Got a couple of spare mags. Wear plugs and muffs if you shoot on an indoor range.

If you don't reload, but want to be able to afford to shoot it, get both and shoot 44 for fun and 50 to amaze your friends. First time shooting the 50 AE, single load a round from the mag. A buddy of mine was shooting my 50 AE and double tapped on accident.

If you're gonna order a new one, get the pimped out gold one.

Got the stainless version from a local shop's online store, and the titanium gold whorehouse hand cannon from grabagun.com

Bought a plain black one on consignment at the LGS. Apparently it was someone's safe queen. Came with both .50AE and .44 magnum barrels and magazines. Shot it for a year or two but hated cleaning it until I got the frame, slide, both barrels and all magazines nickel boron coated by WMD Guns. They did a great job, it's much easier to clean and has a nice satin nickel finish. Classy not whore house looks.

I bought both of mine (black and Gold Tiger) off of Gunbroker.  I also see them on Armslist from time to time.

Do you think the integral muzzle brake is worthwhile or not necessary?

There's a noticeable difference in muzzle flip between the stainless version w/ brake and the gold whorehouse hand cannon without a brake. The brake isn't at all necessary (and an extended brake can be added later by sending it in to Magnum Research or a local gunsmith), but it could be more useful if you're doing any sort of rapid shooting (I've seen videos of some crazy bugger using a DE .50 in a 3-gun match).

Depends - you can get 'em used for a good price, but plan on buying a spring tune up kit, too.  Never know how many rounds the previous owner put through it.  Probably not many, but you never know...
I just picked up another .50ae polished chrome eagle (new).  Great guns as long as you know how to shoot them.

I bought one here in the EE section.  Just picked it up from my FFL today.. I have wanted one for a long time and decided it was the right time to do it.  I emailed Magnum Research with the serial number to find out when it was manufactured, five minutes later I was told it was made in may of 2011 and never been returned for any service work.  I can’t wait to go to the range.
