I know, I know, this is a handgun forum, but I was wondering if anyone here owns an MP5 and if so, how do you like it.

I have had one with me for 6 years for SWAT duty, and have shot thousands of rounds through it.  They are smooth, but I would NOT want to have to rely on one for other than SHORT engagements.  My major complaints are: 1. doens't lock the bolt back after the last round of a mag...so you don't know your empty, 2. all the controls cannot reliably be manipulated with the gun hand, and 3. you need both hands to remove a magazine, thus making it much slower.

The M4 is better for weapons manipulation, etc.

ps-for the record....we issue both mp5s and m4 commandos(11.5")...and i BY FAR prefer the M4.
