I got this yesterday because I wanted a 1911 that was a Colt.
Plus, it is in honor of MAGA.
Series 70 Government Model

I have had this little Mustang for a couple years. It rounds out my entire Colt library in my collection.

114 Year Old Colt New Service that's been rode hard and put away wet. Paid $25 for it a few years back. Can still hit plates at 30 yards one handed.

I picked up this new Series 70 today. Very nice bluing and fit quite well... seemed like a good time to snag one.

They had a stainless one right next to it... I was tempted to grab both!

New Colt Competition .45. I was surprised to see that these are shipping with the red fiber optic tube installed now instead of the blue one; I guess they got enough complaints. You still get a blue and a green one (and an extra red) with the pistol.

Stepson thought he was going to get this & maliciously messed up the finish. Isn't pretty, but shoots well. Manufactured in 1941. I want to get the archive letter & see where it was shipped.

I actually researched this a bit for you. Don’t bother with an archive letter. Per my research (multiple references including the clawson “big book” shows all CSR inspected colts delivered to the Springfield armory. None of my references indicate shipment anywhere else.
