Got it on Thursday. I was a bit pensive about ordering this gun with everything I have heard about Colt recently but I'll tell you that this gun was worth every penny. Fit and finish are impeccable. 200 rounds of both ball ammo and Gold Dot through it so far and not so much as a bobble or hiccup.
My only complaint about the gun is the trigger is much too long for me and it has too heavy a pull for my liking. Both problems will be rectified by month's end.

Just goes to show you, there are two types of 1911 owners: Colt owners and people who wished they owned them.

I'm still waiting on the Sparks leather but you know what, who really gives a shit what kind of leather the gun rides in when its sitting on top of this?

I finally got her in some nice leather.
Milt Spark's Summer Special and S-4cf mag pouch. I bought these items from Lightning Arms Sports. Fantastic people to deal with and very prompt shipment.

Happy to say that I now have about 900 rounds of both ball and Gold Dot (all 230gr) with absolutely ZERO malfunctions.
The leather is also holding up well to daily carry. Conceals with merely a t-shirt and, with the help of a good belt, is very comfy. |
