I just picked up a NIB Colt 1991 (#O1991) from the FFL. The barrel is marked "Colt 45 Auto N.M."

My understanding was that the standard Series 80s came with stainless barrels, but not match. I understand the difference between drop in NM and oversized, but am wondering if the NM-marked barrel is standard on 1991s?

ETA: Nevermind - got the answers at the Colt forum. The NM barrel does not come in the standard 1991. Just got lucky.

I got the 1911 on sale at Buds, free shipping, waived FFL fee, and national match barrel. To make matters worse, it shoots beautiful groups and appears to run like a champ with a variety of FMJ and my preferred HSTs.

Even my wife is glad I bought it!

Beautiful. I got the 1911 bug and a Colt is the cure.

Got it through Buds Gunshop sight unseen until it got to the FFL.

It's been a great shooter since and more accurate than my old Springfield Loaded and more fun than the TRP for some reason. It shoots so well for me that I won't be changing the sights anytime soon. In fact, leaving it plain jane bone stock - not even upgrading the mainspring housing. It is quickly becoming a favorite and feels more like an old friend than a new gun.

For what it’s worth just bought one of these today sight unseen and it came with a national match barrel also. The slide to frame is super tight and the back end is so smooth, no jigsaw puzzle at all. I am extremely happy with my purchase. Paid $729 out the door.
