As a result of the first jam in my defender of three years. (My buddy limp wristed it). I seems it caused a groove or scratch or whatever you want to call it that seems cresent in shape at the bottom of the feed ramp.

Should I be concerned.

I agree with C&L, dont see how brass can cause a scratch in a "harder" feed ramp. Maybe it was there and never noticed until the malfunction brought it to your attention? Is it too deep to polish out? Please dont blame your friend, that would be reaching a bit. At least make sure that scratch is not a crack.(unlikely) I did have a new 5906 Smith auto that had a nick in the feed ramp, other than me knowing it was there, it never missed a lick.
