Their service has always been good for me and I have used it several times.

Well after dicking around with the gun for 6 weeks, don't you think they could even tell me if they are going to repair the gun or replace it? WTF is taking so long?

Taurus' "Lifetime Repair Policy" must really mean that it takes a lifetime for your firearm to be repaired and sent back to you! What a f-ing joke!

They did good by me. A Kaboom in a PT101. Fixed and sent back in a month.

I've got a 627 that would beg to differ with you.

They will honor thier warranty and fix/replace your gun. And you want something more from them.

Thanks for the support, Dave! I really appreciate your condecending tone.

Just for the record, I didn't decide to live anywhere. NY is where I happened to have been born, raised and work. Can't really help that. Also, being connected to family makes moving to a free state a little hard.

And while you're correct, that Taurus isn't at fault for UPS costs or policies, they DO have control over their own products, and their service. A gun should work out of the box. Don't sell something that doesn't work.

And they should fix something in a timely fashion. 2 months later and they can't even tell me the first thing about it is unacceptable.

So the purpose of my rant is to allow people here (some of whom also happen to unfortunately live in NYS) in making an educated decision to avoid Taurus products.

UPDATE.

So, finally, last Friday, the guy at Taurus' customer service tells me they're sending me a new gun.
It will be overnighted Monday or Tuesday. I'll have it mid-week.

Great!

So when Thursday (today) comes, and no gun, I call them up again.

"Since you're in NYS, we have to send it to an FFL." He says

"When were you planning on telling me this," I ask

"We sent you a letter already explaining this."

Mail is not that slow I think.

These mother****ers not only put out a POS product but their service is sooooo bad it has to be a joke.

4 Times I have waited for call backs that never came.

2 Months for them to decide the aren't fixing my gun.

I just can't believe what a horrible buisiness they run. How the hell can they stay in buisiness?!?

Ive had great luck with their wheel guns. I Plan on buying another backup soon, so I guess Im one reason why they are still in business..

FWIW gun problems happen, most don't rant and rave about how bad a company is, they just expect there may be problems, and deal with it. Personally I make a mental note on those who bitch and make sure I dont have any EE deals with them

Whatever, dude...

If you don't see that I have a legit gripe with a company, and think that somehow translates into someone who could not deal in an honest transaction, I guess it's your loss.

I own two Taurus products, a PT945 and an M44 revolver. The 45 has problems with stovepiping, but I think it's the magazine. I just need to get off my lazy ass and ask Taurus to send me a new one. The .44 mag shoots great. I love my Taurus'.

I have owned 3 Taurus handguns...2 revolvers and 1 auto.

All 3 were great guns!

When I had to have a rear sight replaced on one of the wheelguns, I had no problem getting a new one free of charge from Taurus.

While I'm not the most accurate shot in the world, I can hold my own. I bought a PT100 about a year ago and had some accuracy issues. No matter what round I fired, it was inconsistent, at best. I tried a dozen different types of ammo. An onlinje acquaintance suggested I check to see if the barrel may be loose. I did so and it appeared to be loose. I took it back to Gander Mt. and they checked it out, agreed, and sent it back to the factory. This took about 7 weeks. It got returned recently and I picked it up yesterday. The barrel STILL wiggles with my fingers. Taurus "says" they "adjusted the barrel". Uh huh. hinking.gif They sent it back with a target they allegedly shot that gun at and it showed pretty consistent hits at 15 yards. We compared it to a PT92 and the barrel on that moved, too. Then we compared it to a Beretta 92. That barrel did NOT move, even in the slightest. Taurus is a cheap gun. Apparently their tolerances allow for a lot of sloppiness. My conclusion is......... I should have spent the extra $200 and got a Beretta or an H&K USP. Since I just got it back yesterday, I haven't had time to drag it to the range. I guess I will make my final decision after that. I expect similar results as before I sent it in.

Interesting. I have a PT-99. It has a free-float barrel. It is far from cheap.

I shoot marksman level with it and have ZERO accuracy issues.

Your experience is 180 degrees from mine.

I find Taurus to be a good mid-priced firearm that performs as well as more expensive ones.

I sent my Taurus PT111 back to have the sites checked and it was back to me in about 3 weeks. No problem here with them.
