Who is your favorite custom leather holster maker ? A holster maker were most of ther work is done by hand by a small group of people. Not like Bianchi, Desantis, Don Hume, nothing wrong with them, I'm just thinking about getting a nice OWB holster for something like a 4" S&W M27, 586, or Ruger, Redhawk.

I carry my G19 in a Wright Leather Works OWB holster.  I believe it is the "Predator" model.  It hugs my hip and is easy to conceal under a t-shirt.  They also make other models.

John Ralston now that Lou is gone. Although I've always wanted something from Alex Nossar.

For big revolvers, Simply Rugged, their Sourdough pancake holster. Have it made for the Redhawk and it will still hold the other double action guns.

Ritchie gun leather. The legendary Lou alessi's understudy who is working out of Lou's original shop. Great quality and a great guy. Back when I lived in New York you could stop at the shop and order special work- he would do patterns from scratch with your gun. And in the alessi tradition, if you needed a holster repaired you brought it to the shop and he would stop what he was doing and repair it while you waited at no charge

I just ordered an IWB from Tim for my G-19 GEN4 with CT LG-436 red laser. I have a belt he made a few years ago and like it.
It was difficult to find a leather holster for the Glock due to the laser. Tim does good work.

All the makers mentioned in the thread are top notch.  I'll add Gary Brommeland to the list.  Love his Max-Con V.

Thad Rybka.

I don't own one but examined a friend's Ruger Redhawk holster. Perfection.

I've had a lot of leather in my time carrying, most all from the best guys.   The ones I didn't like weren't bad, there were just other makers whose designs fit my body and carry style better.

Right now, Milt Sparks and Privateer.

TT gunleather
I've been using a Slim XC with a 4.25" 1911daily  for over a year.
Like everyone else, I've gone through a box full of holsters
and this is the best yet...
Very comfortable, very well made and Tim is great to deal with,
he gladly added additional cant to bring it to 30 degrees.
I wear it sweating my ass off working in the yard, under car's, clearing snow,
blah, blah, blah, it fits me and the gun very well and shows little wear.
I liked the M.S. Nexus and after a while asked to order one with additional
cant but was told it wasn't an option.
I certainly dont blame them, but I'm really glad I tried TT and will surely go back.
I know leather's not for everybody, but I've tried 8 or 10 Kydex  and / or hybrid
holsters and just wind up back to leather, ymmv.

I was going to attach a couple photo's, but photobucket can kiss my ass.

Levergun Leather Works

True custom one man shop.  I like my leather with simple ornamentation.

This photo really doesn't do justice to the quality of the work.

Andrews, Sparks, Kramer. In that order. My opinion based on actual carry time.But.... there are many fine leather benders out there.

Interesting that the OP ask about "custom" leather.  Yet in several cases people mentioned companies that don't really make custom.   They may modify a line of designs to the tastes of the buyer, but they are not truly custom.

To my way of thinking, a custom holster is a one off unit, made by a single artist, to the exact specifications of the buyer.  There are lots of one man shops out there, and their work is far above the small shops in terms of customization.

I have been using wright leather works for most of my holsters. IWB, OWB, and shoulder holster for many different handguns they are of excellent quality.

Big fan of Tim Thurner / TT Gunleather.

Lately, I prefer his work to Milt Sparks current offerings.
Quick turnaround and the price is very reasonable for the quality.
