At 40 cents a round. Ouch.

They also have Blazer aluminum 9mm for 28 cents a round, or Speer lawman 115 FMJ 9mm for $15 / 50 or .30 / round.

Speer lawman .40 cal 180 grain $19.99/50 or 40 cents a round.

Blazer .45 230 grain $22.99 / 50 or 46 cents a round.

Sportsmans Guide has PMC 9mm 124 grain FMJ for $16.87 / 50 or ~34 cents a round.
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/browse/web-ammo-pistol-9mm.aspx?c=95&s=959&stk=1

I'm still finding deals at ~25 cents a round though, and I'm not going to pay more then that.

Yup, if you're willing to pay better then a buck a round, good defense ammo is out there.

We had a young lady show up for a handgun I class over Momoral day weekend with Speer Gold Dot, for which she had paid full retail as it was the only ammo she could find for the class. Annir-O was kind enough to set her up with plinking ammo instead.

Natchez has American Eagle 115gr 9mm, $15.99 a box, as well as Blazer (not brass) 9mm for $13.99. It may be overpriced, but if you've been looking for 9mm, there you have it. They also have some .45 ACP.

Stopped in my local Academy and they had some Hornady 223 55gr fmj/bt on the shelf. Really didn't like the price of 29.99 for a box of 50 but broke down and bought 2 boxes. Should I keep this for later or just shoot it now. They also had some remington and monarch ( steel and brass) in stock. Still no 44-40.

It appears that OMB has 230 grain hardball for $22.18 / 50, but that's pretty close to the 500 per k you noted.

I haven't ordered from J&G in a while, but generally if it's on their site then it's in stock. There are some exceptions for whatever reason that they keep listed on the site as 'out of stock', but they usually just remove something from their site if it's not in stock.

I ordered a few boxes of that S&B .380 tonight, so I'll find out in a few days if it's really in stock. I'd bet that it is though.

Looking at their 9mm ammo, it's made by Lellier and Bellot. I've never heard of them before. I'll probably hold off till I can find Winchester anyways but what's the verdict on this ammo?

It's an 'S', not an L...Sellier and Bellot (their choice of font sucks, you're not the first person to make that mistake), but yes, they make great ammo. I've never been disappointed, but I've never shot any of their rifle ammo. Handgun ammo has been excellent in my experience with their 9mm, .380, and 9X18.

I ran across this post at calguns.net.

Not a bad deal on 9mm. not quite the WalMart price, but WalMart does not have much in the way of ammo these days. And the $103 includes shipping.

Presumably you could use the $20 off coupon for any ammo (or anything else) they are selling.

BassPro $103 for 500 rounds of UMC 9mm Luger

––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––

I found this on Fatwallet.com and I have ordered and confirmed with Bass customer service that the coupon will be applied. Warning the deal is backordered but they will let you order, and people were told that it would ship within the next 2-3 weeks. The deal is as follows:

Remington® UMC 9mm Luger Mega 250-round Pack $54.99 + $9.95 Shipping @ Bass Pro Shops. After your first box, shipping is only $2 a box or less.

Go to and get your $20 dollar off of 100 (@ www.basspro.com/save100). The code is L9BU . This code should be legitimate since it's from BassPro's website. Enter this in the special messages box when you select shipment type (If you just follow this link, it should show up in the cart without having to enter it into the special messeges box). It will not show up in the email confirmation, but I called Bass (1-800-227-7776) just to make sure, they confirmed on my order (they will ask for confirmation number, name, address). There is also no tax in California for some reason even though they have a California Brick and Mortar location.

If you buy 2 boxes it will be $54.99 (1st box) +$54.99 (2nd box) +$12.95 (Shipping on 2 boxes) - $20 (coupon) = $102.93

***Note: The items are backordered, make sure to enter the coupon code for the 20 dollars off in the "Special Messages Box". For fatwallet veterans you can also save another 4% via Fatwallet fatcash.

The T-series is only $10/more per case. I don't know why folks buy the WWB at such a small difference in price.

Because it was only $200 with free shipping when I ordered it, and that's what I was charged.... It now costs me $216 out the door for UMC at Dick's, but I can get 500 rounds every week like clockwork.

IMO, the Ranger T is still somewhat of a bargain for defense rounds. I loaded up on that as well 2 months ago.

I never thought it would be nearly the same price to shoot HP vs Ball ammo, but we're almost there.

I also have 500 rounds of .40 on BO for $160 with free shipping. I definitely wished I had ordered more at that price.

I placed an order on 5/5 for .45 FMJ, 9mm FMJ and .38 FMJ. I'm hoping they'll ship within the next month or so, but time will tell.

In the meantime I have a case of S&B .45 coming from J&G. I do wish they could provide a tracking number, but I guess it's understandable.

And in keeping with the spirit of the thread ...

TDS still has a bunch of Speer Gold Dot in a few calibers for $0.62/round and under. They also have a limited supply of HST's there as well.
