There is no real thing as a SHTF ammo. There not going to see you load the ammo.
If you are looking for a good defensive ammo. Either Speer Gold Dot 200+p or Double Tap ammo. Both have great penetration results. |

get a sealed can of that Wolf ball . . . Sellier & Bellot is always on sale. buy whatever's on sale and stock up on that. ammo has a L O N G shelf life |

Has anyone heard of or used Aguila ammo or should I just go with PMC?
Sellier & Bellot costs like a dollar to 2 more per box and I'm not to sure about using wolf as storage ammo for a TEOTWAWKI event. Wolf is good blasting ammo though. |

http://www.extremeshockusa.com/ Where else can you get Tungsten-NyTrilium????? Bad guys fear it!!! Just look at the ninjas on that web site carrying this stuff! It's the "The World's Premier Anti-Terrorist Rounds!" With a claim like that, you can't beat it. A single .22 round of this stuff will shoot to point of aim over 1000 yards and blow off the head of any bad guy, even if you only hit in the shoe. It's that good. Alright, so that I don't completely waste a post -- I agree that 230grn FMJ is just fine for the .45. I wouldn't feel the least bit undergunned with just ordinary WWB. But if I had to get something special or wanted the absolute best, I think I'd go with doubletap ammo's 230grn gold dot loads. I've heard from guys who tested them that their claims on speed are true. Pretty cool stuff. I was actually planning on ordering some more myself soon. |

I load up with Speer Gold Dot 230Gr JHPs or Hydra Shok JHPs for personal protection. If the SHTF I want a rifle. SP |

Good stock up ammo is Sellier and Bellot. It is loaded warm, bullet and primer are sealed and is very accurate.
