Is GA arms ammo good to go or not?  I understand they are a smaller boutique ammo manufacturer, but are they on par with buffalo bore and the like?

I see some of their loads are +p+.   Are they in the same class of power as buffalo bore and such?

Their stuff tends to be a bit expensive.  You usually get a better deal buying from sgammo, or similar.  Their 9mm Speer Gold Dot clone, for instance, sells for $28/50.

They are located in my town, FWIW.

The pistol loads are great.  But I shy away from the .223/5.56 as they typically use once fired military brass from M249 SAWs.  It beats the shit out of the brass and there have been many articles about case separation and damage to firearms.   You can do searches in the archives for it.

I used to buy my 10mm, .41Mag and .357Mag from them. Ive also used their "Canned heat" .223 reloads

Perfectly fine stuff.  I used to buy from them often before I started reloading.

Their .38 spl reloads was anemic and dirty, but always went BOOM.

Mixed bag , They are not in the same league as Buffalo Bore , Ga. Arms is local to me and seems to cater to volume shooters. I used a bunch of there ammo and stopped after having a few primers blow out of .223 Canned heat.

Back in the nineties and early 2000's, Georgia arms Ammo was sold at a great price and quality was excellent.
Now it seems that the price is high and the quality is not as good as it used to be. I can order Federal or Speer ammo for a cheaper price and I trust the quality more from the major manufacturers.
Georgia arms just lost their mojo around the 2008 year or so IMHO.

I have shot several thousand rounds of 40 when the price was cheaper years ago. Nothing lately.

I bought few hundred rounds of their .44 Special Gold dots about 15 years ago. Shot some it and it all went bang. Not much of a review but hope it helps

Pretty much this. Though they do carry some intresting loads like the .40 S&W 155gr +P gold dot jhp. I realize there is not a +P load in .40, they added the +P to note it is a very hot round. I think the FPS is something like 1200-1300FPS. I keep some loaded in a Sig P229 .40 that I picked up in trade years ago. I basically bought it for $400 in trade value so I don't really worry about it being stolen or breaking under that kind of round.

I used to get all my 357sig from them.  This was before the 2008 panic buying.

I was a big user of GA Ammo when it was cheaper.  It is just too expensive now and has been for a while.  A bonus with the Canned Heat is the ammo can included.  I did prefer the Handgun ammo over Rifle.  They are a bulk ammo remanufacturer in my opinion, bigger than the garage reloader and smaller than Black Hills.  I would buy again if ammo pricing was cheaper.  Just can buy factory ammo for less now.

Ive used all there stuff and its good. But shooting 9mm mostly these days its cheaper to get te for less than 8$ per box or federal aluminium for less thant 9$.

Buddy of mine had two cans of the canned heat... Was having key hole issues in his SBR,... Eventually had a case head separation in one of the rounds.

I've lived in Georgia 80% of my life... born in Atlanta... Back from 97 until 2001 Georgia Arms was pretty much all me and my shooting buddies used in .223/5.56 and 9mm. So we shot thousands of rounds cases upon cases and had not one problem with them. Then I started hearing all kinds of stories about them after they were sold and their ammo sucking. I haven't bought from them in 17 years. SG ammo, AmmoToGo, and LAX ammo all have far better deals from major manufacturers.

People used to use tjem for match ammo a lot back in the day. Their 9&40 always seemed good but I used to buy WWB cheaper.  Never understood why people would pay more for reloads.
