I see you got it used, a new recoil spring could be needed.  Have you checked extractor tension?

Resurrecting an old thread.. sorry
My Kimber Custom II 1911 Stainless miss feeds occasionally running Federal American Eagle FMJ. It was also really hard to get used the narrow grips. I upgraded those to a set of Hogue with the laser and I'm no longer pulling my shots right. My other problem was that I was always shooting high My sight picture was perfect but when you're 6'4" tall that can mean you're dropping the rear or squatting awkwardly. Solved that issue with a Trijicon RDR but beware, the Novak mount they sell is not the same width as the one on the Kimber so you need to machine the mount down.
