Don't spend $50 on a POS uni-task sight pusher. If you don't have one already, get a 10" Knipex pliers wrench. I've been using them to push in roll pins for years on ARs and other rifles.

Tonight I used them too push in some Ameriglo Spartan Tactical yellow trit rears on a gen 3 Glock 19. No rigamaroling anything. Just slid in sight to resistance, lined em up in the jaws of the pliers, squeezed. Easily went in as far as parallel with slide, don't even have to squeeze hard. Then put slide in leather lined vice, and hooked one pliers jaw to lip of vice jaw and pulled it to center.

Takes less than 2 minutes and zero marring, no filing. Could not be easier this way. Pics later.

Funny how old school tools work for a percent of the price of higher end tools yet do the same thing.

I just used a wheeler gunsmith hammer to tap mine in place.

Wrench method works great until the pliers slip and your slide or receiver is gouged to hell.

That costs $50.63 on Amazon.

What if you don't have a vice or pliers, that's all more expensive than the page tool.

I have those things but most men I run into do when seem to know what an tool is other than a hammer.

Meh, I just vise it and use a punch and hammer.
$0 cost, as most people already have them.

No thanks, I will continue to use my sight pusher tool I picked up on the EE for $35, so far I have used it to install 13 sets of sights, no muss and no fuss.

Yep- I laugh at the idiots that pay 150 bucks for a sight pusher

Heck, you can even use a small Irwin hobby vise and a punch set (as I’ve done) and combined, it’s still cheaper than a sight pusher (and has way more uses too).

I just use a hammer and a punch.  Have done at least 20 pairs of sights this way.  Minimal marring with a brass punch and some painter's tape.

Upside down in my milling Kurt vice with aluminum or copper jaws... it's effortless.

a 3/8 x 3" nylon bolt was $1.19 at local ACE Hardware this morning. Along with a dead blow hammer and a much smaller hammer for final tap-tap-tap installed Ameriglo Pro I-Dot in fairly short order (bench vise).

Of course the value of a $110 MGW sight pusher can become apparent when the time comes for any fine-tuning at the range since most of us don't shoot on our own property.
