I have two 21A's, each of which was purchased used at pawnshops.  The first one's trigger operates exactly like a small semi-auto should.  The newer one, however, has an annoying and potentially dangerous trigger operation:

When I pull the trigger in double-action mode, I have to pull it a LONG way before it fires.  In fact, it doesn't fire until the back of the trigger is about 1/8" from the back of the trigger guard.  It's basically the same break point in semi-automatic mode.  The trigger travels an equally long distance, only there's no resistance since it's already cocked.  But again, it doesn't fire until the trigger is almost against the trigger guard.  I've fired it enough to become familiar with its little idiosyncrasy but a new shooter might well think the pistol is jammed since the break point is so far back.

Is this something that a gunsmith can easily adjust, or would I need to buy a completely new trigger?
