Figured that's what it would look like. Sold my 1.0 in anticipation right before the rebates went crazy.

Did they re-design the 8rd mag spacer to stay in place without glue?

Not sure it's enough to warrant getting rid of my gen 1 Shield.  Just had night sights put on mine.

Looks strangely identical to the Shield 1.0.

It is basically the Shield 45 in 9 mm.  I had always figured that was what the 2. 0 was going to be.

I plan on getting both. But, I know I'm a little spoiled because I can get them for quite a bit less through the Individual Officer Program.

I'm probably not going to upgrade from my .40 Shield 1.0 with Apex DCAK, upgraded sights and recoil spring and guide rod.

Brownells has them for pre-order at $450, and $499 with night sights and an extra mag.

I'm crossing my fingers that they added a reversible mag release. Otherwise I can't justify paying $450 for that when the 1.0 can be had for $300.

I'd basically be paying $150 for front slide serrations and a slightly nicer trigger.

I have been wanting another Shield but I'm not a huge fan of the more aggressive texture on the 2.0 for my EDC. So instead of the 2.0 I went ahead and ordered the 1.0. The deals are out there for the 1.0s now, got it for $289 with 2 free 8 round mags.

Everyone said the shield 45 was not a 2.0

Looks like it is. What does the shield 9 have that the shield 45 doesn't?

I'm happy with what Smith did with the 2.0 in the full size and compact but will want to put one of these in my hand before I decide if I want one. The Shield 45 is nice but larger than I want for a discrete carry gun.

Seriously tempted to get another 1.0 at the lower cost and the 2 extra mags.

Can't decide which I like better, my Glock 26 gen4 or Shield.  Very close.
