Looking at picking up an M&P. I'm finding some deals on used "1.0"  or should I hold off on the used units and just look at the new 2.0?

Is the trigger that improved?

Is Apex the only upgrade for triggers?

Thanks.

I saw more M&P 2.0s for $449 today. For that price the 2.0 is a no brainer IMO. I've never had an issue with the M&P trigger but I the 2.0 is definitely an improvement.

The grip texture and medium-large back strap is simply amazing.

The prices on the M2.0 are pretty amazing. The trigger in the 2nd generation of M&P is not Apex level, or even Pro series level. They are (IMO) somewhere right between the 1st gen and Apex. Better for sure, but not night and day better.

It really comes down to money and preference. Unless your are saving some serious money on the 1st gen, I would go with the M2.0

Where are you seeing those $449 prices at?

The 2.0 is a nice improvement. I'm loving mine. You don't need to do anything to the trigger. It's 5lbs with good reset. I shot for groups at 25 yards and was impressed.

$429.99. Mine was right at 450 shipped, with insurance.

Out of the box I would agree with you. However, after about 200 rounds of dry-fire, and 100 or so rounds of live fire, there is little discernible difference between my M2.0 and my wife's 1st gen, that has a complete Apex DCAEK installed.

I got mine locally for $440 + tax and have seen others for around $449.

I love my stock gen 1 M&P.

But if I could do it over again I would order a police trade in M&P and an APEX barrel and flat faced FSS. I don't care how good people say the Gen 2 is, there is no way it can beat that.

Apex barrels and (some) triggers fit the 2.0, I'm sure more goodies are coming.

I know. But with the total price of a police trade in gen 1 with apex part being only slightly more it would be the way I would go if I were looking to get an M&P.
