I found a used Beretta Vertec (stainless) 96 .40 at a good price. Anyone using one? Any departments out there issueing the Vertec? I plan to replace my standard Beretta 96 .40 with this one. Safariland says that the 070 SSII has been redesigned so that it fits a standard model or a Vertec. I already have one of the Safariland 6280 that fits both, but think that I would like to go back to the 070. Anyone got a good source for night sights.? I am going to replace the Vertec trigger with a standard one and change to a "D" spring.
Thanks for all the replies

There are a few PD departments coming around to the Vertec. Are you changing over for the grip difference or the light rail? Beretta has a new regular grip model that will be equiped with the rail system. It is all black though.
You'll have to send a standard vertec to a company named Tooltech to have the front sight drilled for a tritium insert.
This is where the brigadier slide comes in handy with its dovetail sights.
They do have the Vertec Elite IA which has the dovetailed slide.
There is a good smith named Ernest Langdon who specializes in the Beretta 9x line. His webpage is at:

Hope this helps.
