I've liked what I've seen so far. Just need to get a hold of one and shoot one before I decided on to buy it or not.

Well, looks like Beretta is on a roll.  Me and my brother just purchased a Px4 apeice.  Man, what a nice pistol.  I think the 90 Two will be another hit.  If Beretta makes a compact version of the Px4, then my Glock 26 will be sold quickly.

I like what I'm seeing, but the name is going to be confusing. Kind of like a "Who's on first base" kind of deal. I can't imagine how many order mix ups there will be for the poor dealers that will be carrying these.

Nice looking pistola.

And yes, the name will cause confusion with those of us ordering them for people.  Will have to make sure they want the poly 92 or regular steel.

Does it take 92 mags? It is nice looking. My stainless 92 will not be going up for sale though.

Is the rear sight adjustable?
Link Posted: 2/14/2006 1:18:20 PM EDT

you should check on the official site.

it has a dovetailed rear sights, so you could install an adjustable rear sight.  but it only comes w/ fixed sights which can only be drifted for windage.

Would like to hold one

Although I am not a fan of the vertec style grips. But then again, that is a bad angle.

It looks like it's a modular grip, so you could configure it into the standard shape.  I hate the vertec too.  I'm not sold on this one either.... it's only one ounce lighter than the std 92, and you're trading in a real metal gun for a plastic fantastic.... i'm not running to trade in my M9 that's for sure.  This is just a cosmetic upgrade with questionable benefit.

sweet, I may have to get one of those.

what i'm excited about is a recontoured grip.  i'm not a fan of the vertec grip either.  i was excited about the original vertec grip as well, but it was a bit of a disappointment when i actually picked it up.  the change was too extreme from the std grip which i like.  but the slim grip on the 90two does not look like an exact vertec grip.  it looks like a compromise btwn the std grip and a vertec grip.  it might be exactly what i'm looking for.  in addition the other 90two grip is also supposed to be slightly different from the std 92 grip.  the upper backstrap area is supposed to be slimmer, which is something i've always wanted.  however, there is only one way to know if these new grips will work for sure.

in addition, i like the fact this is NOT a plastic gun.  the frame is still metal, it's just the plastic grips have been made one piece.  i have not found out how low the frame goes into the grips, but i'm hoping it goes down pretty far into the grip of a solid connection and feel.

what's the point of the fatass rail cover?  Is there a laser or someting in it, or is it just a bulky plastic throwaway piece?

If is the direction Beretta is going, I am going the other way.  I love my 92fsinox, it is a beautiful gun that is a work of art, not a work of modern that happens to function like a gun.

It's not a bad looking pistol to me and I like the dovetail sights to be able to change them out, but that's about it. If you want the rail and like how the pistol feels than it's good for you. As I don't like a rail on my pistols though and the 92FS with Hogue finger grooves feels too good, so having a 92FS and an M9 with Hogue's already I don't see much benefit to me buying one of these, but it's still a Beretta and I'm sure a fine pistol.

ditto. It looks OK but the whole reason I got my Beretta is because of the fine machine work and how smooth it felt. I have a neo but do not like the looks realy. The new Berettas look like something from Flash Gordon to me.

Not in the military, I meant replacing the model 92 FS for civillian sales...

Name should include "dash".... as in "90-dash-two" to differentiate itself from the 92fs.

Wonder if they'll include the trigger guard finger rest to satisfy those that like/require them
