Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 92 and 96 mags interchangable?

Read a post on another forum stating that the 9mm mags can be used in the .40cal. if the .40 folower is installed. Anyone ever try it?

the times I've compared mags I haven't been able to tell a difference, so if there is one it's smaller than noticable to the naked eye

I have both a 92 an a 96 so I tried it.


The 92 mag body with a 96 follower and spring did NOT feed properly during slow or rapid fire. Single shots caused FTF and I had one Double feed during rapid fire.

Other folks may have had different outcomes but this is what happened to mine.
