Just picked up 81 at FFL this afternoon. Bought through GA and chose Excellent condition at only $14 over another sites G/VG grade with Best of 10 uptick. Could not be more impressed for a 40-yr old used gun. Grips look brand new (comparing to my current model 84FS) and only leading edge holster wear on slide and release. Everything is tight and clean, barrel well oiled, barely even any noticeable GPR. Would totally buy from RTP again. Great customer service. Looking forward to range time this weekend.

Ha! So true...forgot about that and I'm in the industry to know. Took my "new" 81 to the range this morning and was even more impressed with the purchase. She looks right at home in my Beretta 84FS IWB and paired up with two new Beretta store mags on sale + discount ($35 each with free shipping) Code = MAYSPR. (Seller only had knockoffs and I prefer OEM's for carry confidence.) Could not be happier with the purchase and thanks to all the guidance from great ARFCOM post'ers, was able to steer away from less customer service-minded sellers.

Got mine from R Guns. They were down to like 6 or so. When I first saw it I was worried, even started asking about what steel wool.
Turns out that just oil and regular cloth took care of everything except a tiny bit between the slide serations. A plastic pick might clean that up, probably hard to get the cloth in there. thing is, right now you can get a box of 32 acp for $16 which makes it cheapest centerfire ammo out there! |
