Yes, I hate the red dots on the INox. The Inox Vertec has WHite dots. I don't understand why they don't do that on the standard 92FS

It's a 96D, just like our duty gun.  Yes you can get it out of the box by picking it up by the trigger guard.  Since this is a display gun that was made prior to our orders being made, where the plate says "NAME" that's where the individual officers name and or badge number will go.   The guns will only be offered to officers that are currently on duty or officers that retired with more than 10 years on the job.

What has been the PSP's impression of the 96D so far ?

I can't speak for everyone.  Everyone has an opinion.  One thing  I can say about the Beretta after seeing several hundred on the range is that they are reliable.  However, right now we (guys on patrol, not at DHQ!) are having some concern with our ammo.  We've had several shootings were good hits were made and the round (Winchester 180 gr Ranger SXT) did not perform.

For you military-issue M9 fans, my Dad's M9:

As many of you know, General Officers are given the option to purchase their issued sidearm from the DOD upon retirement if they so choose.  My Dad (who retired as a MG) wasn't even going to do so until I talked him into it, and I'm glad I did - he ended up giving it to me.  You'll notice the low General Officer-specific serial number (starting GO-...).  I plan to mount it in a nice display box with his black leather dress-belt & matching Bianchi GO holster & mag-pouch, the papers on it from DOD, and a good picture of him in full dress uniform.

You need to upload the picture to somesort of web space.  Most ISPs give you a small amount of hosting space.  Just upload it there and then make a link in your post pointing at it.

chaos4570..why did you have your beretta sent back to factory? I had a spring break and a few other little problems, and i ordered the parts and fixed it mylsef, and heck i'm only 15. it wasn't too hard if you know guns well.

It shot groups that were about a foot and a half in size at 15 yards.   The Factory kept sending it back saying that it was a Burr in the barrel and that they had taken care of it.   I dont think they ever did anything to it. Turned me off to anything beretta.

I would have happily traded it for a boat anchor

foot n a half in size? wow thats huge. i get a lil less then 6 inches w/ my 92fs. beretta makes great guns chaos. i wouldn't be turned off to them just because a little bur in the barrel. that only happens to 1 in like thousands of guns. not many defects. hell, if our military relies on them and just signed for another order of 70k of them, i'm sure there good enuf for us. just a though

A quality pistol will print holes on top of each other at 15 yards.........

The burr in the barrel is not what turned me off to beretta,
It was the simple fact that they kept sending the gun back to me in the same state that I sent it in.

Good luck with your weapon, I hope you never need it serviced by the factory..........

Sorry to piss on your thread.....that is all

I understand where chaos4570 is coming from..he got a lemon and it turned him off...I had the same thing with a Glock...new, outa the box, whould not hit the side of a barn if I was standing point blank. Glock said that it would take 6-8 months to have it looked at..I told them to pound sand.

I traded it for a Beretta 92F and never looked back...

I love my Beretta's and in thousands of rounds, I have never had a gun fail on me because of the gun, just faulty ammo...

To each their own, but I wish that when there are threads like this, that people with negitive posts would not post..

I understand posting in a -"I'm thinking of buying a Beretta"...and telling your bad ownership with a Beretta...I would do the same with a Glock thread..

Not busting your hump chaos4570, just my opinion...

Sorry you had a problem.  Your Beretta is probably better off as an anchor.

There are lots of 92 variations, I have one, that work great, I mean GREAT.  What do you think the final problem was?  Was it truly non fixable?

Rick
