Anyone else notice a decline in sig's quality over the last few years??? I have an older 226 that has just been refinished and looks like new. But the newer sigs im seeing don't feel like they are the same quality. Did they change something in thier manufacturing?? We have had several of the newer sig's crack the slide rails and have to be replaced, and with less than 500 rounds thru them.

I bought a new P229 in .40 S&W in May of 1999 and have put over 1000 rounds through it.  I realize that's not much, but you need to consider this was in the first four months of owning the gun.  My main shooting round is the 165 grain Federal American Eagle which gives quite a bit of feedback to the shooter.  I've put about 100 rounds of stiff self defense ammo through it also.  I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

I sent my slide back to Sigarms last Thursday to have the front night sight replaced.  It stopped glowing within the first 6 months.  I had to wait until I bought a second handgun before sending the slide back.  I bought a Kahr P9.
