Anyone have impressions on the 239 (.40) as a CCW?

Thanks...

I've only shot the 9mm and it is awesome.

Damn accurate!

Great fit/ finish. Reliable.

I'll second Boomholzer on that reply...I have two Sig P-239's, one in 9x19 and a second in 357 Sig/40 Smith & Wesson. I purchased an additional barrel which allows for the conversion.

I have added a rubberized grip to both handguns, a wrap-a-round grip from Houge that includes finger groves. I really like the fit, balance, and feel of these hand guns, especially the 9x19, which is ever so slightly smaller than the 40/357 chambering.

I have not re-converted my 357 Sig back to 40 S&W since I switched barrels...what a fun caliber to shoot.

In conclusion I recommend you get one…or better yet get two!

I cannot speak for the 40 caliber P239, but I had a 9mm that was an excellent pistol. The accuracy was greater than I expected from such a small pistol, even if it is a Sig. Watch-Six

Thanks for the feedback. Doesn't sound like I can go wrong with it.

How much more kick / recovery time do you have with the .357 vs .40?

You will find the 357 Sig caliber is much easier to control when fired from a Sig P-239 than the 40 S&W round.

Mines a 9mm. It's been my choice CC weapon lately. Get one. You wont be sorry.

I love my 239 .357. A set of Nill stippled combat grips and a bunch of ammo, and you'll be in love too.

I have Nill's on my P239 also. I'm not sure what exactly makes it my preffered CCW though?
The weapon itself, or the Nill's installed?
Either way it's a sweet little weapon.

Another fan of the 239 w/ Nill's in .40/.357.

I shoot this gun better than my 226 in .40, go figure. Light, accurate, small and hard hitting - quite a package.

Call me the fly in the oinment! Why? I own a P239 in 40 S&W, a Glock 27, and I carry a custom Kahr K40. All three of my pistols have been 100% reliable.

To make this fair let me say my P239 has night sights and I have Nill and checkered Hogue grips for it. My G27 has night sights and my K40 has night sights, checkering, checkered Hogue grips, a checkered front strap, and hard chrome by Tripp.

The P239 looks boxy and feels heavy in my hand. I much prefer the Kahr and then the G27 to the P239.

Regards,

Richard:D

I use the P239 in 9mm as my primary CCW gun and I think that it's great. Concealment is great in a Milt Sparks Watch Six IWB holster.

I use my Sig 239 as my CCW pistol also useing a galco hi ride holster, no problems , easy to shoot , I pack 180 gr hydrashocks when i carry and throw 1 box a week of them downrange just to make sure I feel comfortable , but that is just me

Get yourself a Milt Sparks Versa-Max 2 for your 239 and you will have close to a perfect carry package.

Richard Oldfield, I have a Glock 27 as well. The 239 is boxy compared to your Glock?? To my eye, the Glock 27 is a box truck and my 239 is a Porsche. Can't get much more boxier than a Glock. (I still like'em though!)
