I have a double action only P239. The trigger is very heavy--how can I lighten it?

The easiest thing to try is to change the hammer spring to a reduced power spring. The stock spring is 18 lbs.. You can go with anything from 12, 14 and 16 lbs.. The potential for light strikes is a concern from lightening it too much. That is especially important for a carry weapon. You should be able to get away with 16 lbs without a problem, but you should verify that with many rounds before carrying it that way.

I have heard that Bruce Grey does a trigger job that is top notch. You can also have Sig do work on it.
