My brother is looking at a refurbished Sig P220. The Gun store owner said that it is refurbished from the factory and comes with the same factory warrenty that a brand new one comes with. He said you cannot tell the difference between it and a new one. He said the only difference is it comes with a red box and a new one comes with a blue box. He's selling them for $519.

What do you guy's think? Is this a good deal? Is there anything I should look for on it or ask him before my brother buy's it?

I'm not sure what year it is, he's soppose to be getting them in next week.

The factory referbs or CPO's as they are called are excellent buys.  I am not familiar with the full factory on a new Sig, however these Certified Pre Owned ones come with a 1 year warrenty.  As these are essentially used guns they may show a few handling marks or holster wear, but it has been my experience that this is NOTHING to be concerned about.   Buy with confidence.

If you want a shooter get a Sig CPO.

+1 I acquired one for a friend from Teknic (Ranier Arms) and other than a few very light handleing marks, it looked almost new.

The refurbished Sig is a good deal. Recently got  a 220R for X-Mas. If it is refurbished by Sig, it will have the blue/white grip band with CPO on it.
