Sig is making two new .45 handguns, one is a P220R frame with a P245 slide, and DAK trigger.  The other is a P220R, single action, with a frame mounted ambi safety.  Pics at sigforum.com.  Cool shit man.

If they made a 226 like that, I'd have my CPO up for sale right now

I just don't get the second version.  I see no advantage to a full size frame mated to a stumpy barrel - the frame is the hard part to conceal!  Now if they had jusst stretched the P245 frame a little, like half the distance between the 245 and 220 frames, I think it'd be a winner.  I just don't see a niche for this gun, myself...

Regards,

Kevin

I think he meant a SA version.

Which they do make.  The X-5 Tactical.  Its got a rail, 5" match barrel, beavertailed frame, and SA with frame mounted safety.  Its completely badass.

I think the $2500 price tag is fot X-5 with Nills, adjustable jewell trigger, and all that other shit.

The X-5 Tactical is going to be much less, around the price of the Sport Stocks that have been discontinued.

that 220 doesnt look like mine!! is that a thumb safety?!?!?! they deleted the decocker thats on mine!! i want one with a thumb safety damnit!!

and unless im wrong - the 245 frame is smaller because i know it handles one round less than the 220(or so says the SIG website)

Is this for the supposed new testing for a new military sidearm?  Apparently HK is coming out with a new .45 too?

Looks legit on the Sig Forum.  Do you have special knowledge or sources that say this is a joke?

It is real. The P220 SAO may not be out for awhile but the others are definitely in the works.  I can't wait to get my hands on the P220 SAO, I just wish it didn't have an ambi safety.  I also don't care for the rail, but who knows maybe they will offer different versions.

Well first I'll address the so called p240. First off their is already a SIG designated the P240. Its the SIG-Hammerli P240.  Second I cant Believe SIG would put a slide on a frame that was sticking out allmost an 1/8" in front of the slide rails.

Now for the P220 SAO. The safty lever is not a match to the rest of the levers finnishes.

The title is named accuratly enough = Rumors? We Don't Need any Stinkin' Rumors! PICS of New Gun Prototypes.

Im not falling for it. Rumors?......... Rumors!

Look at the pics.

Oh ya and why would SIG make a P220 DAO, and place the trigger set in the same place as the P220 cocked trigger set? To many

This guy is pulling your chain.

Yup its all rumors your stuck with the classic series SIG line, GOTM's and railed SIG's and thats it.  SIG isn't interested in civilian sales only filling the current government contracts.

I dont know about stuck with the classics series. I am happy with them. If one is not happy with them. One can explore the PRO SERIES. Im sure sig has to revaluate their future paths. After the TRAILSIDE & MOSQUITO.

As for the intrest in the civilian market. Who else would buy the left over stock.
