I just recently purchased a SIG Mosquito in two tone, nickel and blued, DAMN is it a shooting little thing. But lets talk about ammo specific pain in the ass. I finally started using Aguila Hyper velocity hollow points, and havent had any further issues. Would love to here from you guys who also have the same gun, or thinking about buying one.

Did you break it in yet? About 200 rounds of high vel. should do it.

It comes with two recoil springs right? One for standard vel. and one for high/hyper vel.

Have you tried switching them out?

As usual....I bought the gun but havent been able to shoot it as of yet. Everytime I think I will get a chance I end up right in the middle of a FUBAR case and spend the next two days doing paperwork and taking warrants..lol. Hopefully I will get to shoot it this weekend...range report to follow.

When I first got the Mosquito, I tried CCI Stingers, and had about one FTE in every mag. I switched to Remington High Velocity and have had no issues to date. Great little pistol.

Considering getting a Mosquito. Has anyone tried the Federal 38gr copper jacketed hollow point?

I've run 250 rnds of Federal 36 gr. copper-plated HPs through mine. Lots of FTEs & FTFs. Works a little better with the Outback II on it. Runs almost 100% w/38 gr. Rem. Subsonics (w/OB2). I tried the heavier spring, no workee. I will try the Stingers and some other shiite I have lying around. I gotta get this thing to function.

These are sounding more and more like some P22 I have heard about.

They are better made than the P22 but, in some aspects they are similar.

No failures with the high velocity rounds I have tried. The CCI Green Tag Competition ammo gave the best groups at 25 yds on sand bag bench rest.

I have several bricks of different ammo thru mine. I love the thing. It seems to like Winchester grey box stuff over anything else. The Remington stuff is just too dirty.

I can't get the Remingtons to work in mine. I was told to break it in but after 600 rounds it still FTF. I noticed that the barrel came loose. I have now cleaned it andf tightened the barrel. I will try some Federal next.

If I would have read this forum first I would not have bought it. I hope I can get this gun to run as good as my 22/45.

What about these FTF anyone have any ideas about what to do to correct it.

Barrel loose? Ouch....I hear SIG is getting these things back right and left. They are doing trigger jobs, work on the safeties and take down levers also. Looks like it is a matter of time before we all send them back for a tune up. And maybe a free mag or two for our pain and discomfort!!!!!!

I held one of these at the local shop and I was not impressed. It was some sort of weird green color, had about a 20 LB DA trigger and a mile of take-up in SA. I will stick with my Glock conversion thank you very much.

That's what I should have bought.

I bid on one in an online auction. I guess I will take the negative feedback rather than buying one.

Damn, my P22 POS at least works (shows way more wear than it should for round count)
