You aren't alone, my used PD trade in P226 .40 came with the E2 grip, soon as I got home and took it out of the box I realized those weren't for me and ordered a set of the stock 2 piece grips to put on. Tried the Hogue Rubber grips also, I really loved the feel of those but sadly they are just a bit too big for my hands.

I hate the E2 grips.
You are not alone.

My favorite grips are the ones that came on the Dark Elite series. And I think other Sig's.

Not alone. On the doublestacks I vastly prefer Hogue G10s (or even a set of their hardwood grips)

On a P220, the big old rubber Hogues work really well for me...

You are not alone. I tried them twice.  And sold them both.  I like the aluminum grips. Hogue worked best.
I don’t like the plastic

The E2 wasn't bad on the P227, but I find them generally way too small.

I like the E2 grips better than the standard Sig two piece grips.  The best grips are the G10's.

I actually prefer the E2 as they offer a more solid grip, at least to me. The aluminum are nice but can give you a quick chill when you use them for ccw.

I wanted to like the E2 grips but the original 2 piece grips with the fat trigger fits me perfectly.

I like the size of the original grips that came with my used Mk25 but when I squeezed the grip that seem down the back would "shift" in my palm. A grip that moves as you squeeze it That was extremely annoying.

I didn't know about those aluminum grips till reading this thread but the e2 one piece design cures that issue so i'm fine with it.

So far, I like the E2 grips better than any other grip I have tried. I may try a set of the Hogue aluminum grips in the near future.

The only times I've had two piece Sig grips move on me was when they weren't tightened down. The E2 grips I've tried though all squirmed under recoil; they shifted, noticeably. Even a P229 I had would squirm during shooting. The frame would twist and move, it felt really flimsy with the E2 grips on it.

I have a P226 Tac ops 9mm. I would love to have the e2 grips for that gun. If they will swap out, I would be willing to trade with you!

I've got both the E2 and the standard. I get by okay with the standard, but controls are just a couple mm out of reach given my smaller fingers/hands. The E2 definitely changes the overall grip positioning. As far as the E2 texture, it's really different too. Given the change in positioning, it may not suit everyone.
What works well for some may not work well for others, but either way, it's not absurd that you don't like it.

The e2 grips aren’t perfect and yes they do flex and move on some guns.

I still prefer them over the factory plastic grips, hogue finger groove, and hogue non-finger groove.

I carry them as a duty gun and haven’t tried any other grips besides the ones I’ve mentioned.

I hate the E2 grip. Feels weird and looks goofy.
