I can't wait to get my hands on it.

This would be a good one for the wife if it had like a 3 foot spread at 10 feet. No training necessary.

Now all we need is a Revolution!

Yea, .45 Auto written on the side of the slide brick. I bet the recoil is smooth!

Wonder if they make an IWB holster for it?

Phuck! I give up already!

I would think it more useful if all the rounds were not necessarily going to the same POI.

I have a sense of humor, I just don't get this particular joke. Just went over my head I guess.

Thats one of the strenghts of the system. In typical MG fire there is a considerable spacing between the rounds, something like 5 yards distance in flight. With the stacked projectile it is a matter of inches between rounds. For a drone aircraft this type of close packed firepower would be devastating. Or for C130 gunship.

Think of a shotgun, the shorter the shot string the better.

For infantry I dont see much use other than the stacked grenade launcher.

For drones, we will be seeing this on the battlefield before long.

Oddly, not as stupid as you think. There are multibarrel "smartguns" in development which would allow a LEO to select "less-lethal" ammunition from one bore, or real ammo from another bore. These ideas are proposed and prototypes in development by metalstorm (no surprise there). Metalstorm uses a proprietary "stacking" where barrels are pre-loaded with multiple caseless type ammunition. Think of the barrel as the magazine also (sort of like a shotgun tube). When the barrel is empty, it's replaced. No slide to reciprocate, no firing pins, no magazines, etc. etc. Metalstorm, I am told was developed initially as marine defense against incoming missile. Rate of fire of some models excedes a million rounds a minute. Other applications include area defense, like a claymore mine.
Interesting, but I don't see the system replacing small arms anytime soon, except in very limited circumstances.
