I have a need for a smaller CCW pistol (have a 19).  I am pretty much sold on the 33 since I want to move up a bit in caliber and I dislike the .40S&W.  I may not have a very good reason but I just don't like it, so snappy.  I was told that the .357 Sig is more "pushy" round than a "snappy" round, is this correct?  I can handle a G27 pretty well at the range so I'm familiar with the recoil of that one.

Boise but I'm in Kansas City right now rounding out the end of my Marine Corps contract.  I'll be home once in March, then once more in July/August, and I'll be home for good in November.  I plan on going back to Boise and attending BSU.

I figured you were in the Eastern Washington area, am I correct?

Have you shot the 27?  If so, how does if compare to the 33?

Correct(E.WA)

Problem is I roof for a living so unless I'm shooting a 50cal pistol, I rarely notice recoil, sorry.

I own;
1 - G17
1 - G17L
1 - G19
1 - G20(pending)
1 - G21
1 - G23
2 - G24(1- "C")
2 - G26
1 - G27
1 - G32C
1 - G33
1 - G37
1 - G38

I need to CK the safe to see if I forgot any.

Edit: forgot one

It's not the recoil that bothers me so much as how the recoil is "applied".  I like .45ACP as it kinda "pushes" but .40's snap and I don't like that.

I have a glock 31 in 357 sig. I loved the gun from the start. This last year I finally got a 40 cal drop in barrel and let me tell you, it shoots rings around my factory glock barrel. My glock has turned into my most accurate semi auto I own. I got the luck of the draw. It wasnt one of the match barrels either just a basic federal arms barrel from Brownells,

I shot the G27 and the G33 before buying the G33. I also rented a G33 with the .40 cal barrel and I still like the .357 sig better. It is LOUD but I felt the recoil was better with the .357 than the .40 cal. Our local PD uses the .357 sig and only 1 out of 6 Police shootings was not a fatality, pretty good I'd say.

I can't wait to go pick one up, I'm waiting for a weak moment to go charge it.

I have a stock Glock 32 barrel in a Glock 23 and find no big difference in recoil, the 357 SIG is a bit louder and seems to push more back than flipping up but there is less difference between the two and the G21.

I find the G21 to be softer shooting. If the Glock 30 fits your hand, you should look into that subcompact, too.

A bad, and a good onehout
Regarding "peening" in the slide you can mill of 1-2mm off the locking block, so it won't slam against the slide during cycling! This will not weaken the GLOCK, but it has to be done when new-in-box to prevent any peening marks!

I feel I should share this info with other glock owners, maybe some of you already knew but anyway!

I have only shot borrowed 40 glocks a few rounds long ago, but my new 33 seems VERY snappy.  The muzzle does not rise hardly at all, but makes a loud boom, cycles really fast, and makes your hand a little sore and red.  I think either will be snappy and enough rounds of either will give you carpel tunnel.  Just get the one you want.

I bought a Glock 33 and immediately got a .40 barrel from Glockmeister.

I've done "quick change" tests on the range, trying to retain my memory from the other caliber.

It's interesting how people's perception is different, but I find the .357 more "snappy" and straight back than the .40.  My personal opinion is the .40 recoil in the small gun is easier to control than the .357.

I am not recoil sensitive (have a G30 too) so I feel that my observations are pretty objective.
I can shoot the G33 well with either the .357 or .40, but I like the .40 better. I've installed Crimson Trace grips on the G33 and with them I compete well with folks shooting Sig 226, 1911s, and other full size guns in my weekly pistol league.

I just bought a G23 (OD...Stylin'!!) and I'll probably buy a .357 barrel too. It'll be interesting to see how I feel about the difference in the larger gun.
